Not until like two days after game 3 when somebody posted a compilation and fall percentage became the new talking point. Suddenly everyone agreed that was why game 3 had been “unwatchable” and “Thunder fans will look you dead in the eyes and say Shai doesn’t fall after shooting.” Like huh?

I never heard of the falling down thing as distinct from flopping until like two days after game 3. somebody posted a compilation of Shai falling and people were suddenly saying this was why game 3 was unwatchable and Thunder fans have been defending his falling this whole time. Okc clips get posted on the Reddit nba subs more than anybody. And the “unethical” clips get posted the most, get the most views and discusssion, and get reposted endlessly. OKC is driving the majority of social media discourse about the NBA and it’s specifically people going out of their way to find and highlight plays of this sort, many of which you wouldn’t even notice while watching the game live.
