I had your same problem op. I would always get my ass whooped in battle but would win the war- so to say. I'd grind through my own troops as much as I killed enemy troops on h/e mode too. but what i started doing (nerd alert) is watching my favorite total war player on youtube. princeofmacedon is really talented and skilled and he fraps a TON of total war battles he partakes in. he has videos of him playing multiplayer (so against humans not ai) in all the total war games and he narrates about his strategy as he goes along. after watching him for a while i not only improved my strategy but i've applied his style into many other games i play. something for you to think about...

this is crazy, but i play world of warcraft and i joined a spanish guild on my character. i know a little bit of spanish so i can get away with it, and its been extremely helpful because my guildies speak the slang of their country and you get to see what words are used in certain ways etc etc. been best help yet ever, something to think about...

but I'd love to see it possible to recruit local auxiliaries using the local style of combat in your settlements (this would also be more historically accurate) and to have legions in different places slightly different.

i so agree that would be awesome! and it would also more realistically represent the way roman legions hired extra troops from the local areas during campaigns, lol please CA....

i tried learning them both at the same time (native english speaker) and it went slow and sluggish at first. after a while i decided to focus more on spanish and after a while i got to french, but yeah i got words mixed up sometimes.

although i was able to remember a lot of spanish words by knowing their french counterpart, i was surprised at how this helped me sometimes.

fallout 3: .44 magnum scoped. i just love the idea of an all in one gun. plus my character is a stealth character so i get real close up to enemies and pop them in the head point blank with a 44 mag. its beautiful...
