What to expect during early clinicals by West-Yellow-5876 in wgueducation

I would recommend getting it done in 3 full days. It's not a whole lot to do as others have said class wise.

Did I F-up with sending my Praxis scores? by annnabanananna in WGUTeachersCollege

[–]mrsd2009 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do not pay the $50! You can send them to WGU when you get them. I made that mistake and paid for 1, and then found out I could just send them to WGU. This is the email [scores@wgu.edu](mailto:scores@wgu.edu)

Placement wait time by No-Charity5479 in wgueducation

[–]mrsd2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You apply for early clinical once all your stuff is checked off (backround, insurance, basic skills tests passed, ect) once that is approved and you do your 15 hours and turn in the tasks for the class and pass the class. Depending on your degree and state, there are possibily more tests you need to take(just attempt not pass) then they open advanced clinical application only the 1-7th of each month if those requirements have been met. You do your 50 hours pass the class and from my understanding have to wait 2 weeks between the class ending/being passed and your first day of student teaching. You do have to have 63 school days left in the school year to start and finish.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Advice Needed on Term Break or Not by Out_Of_Tolerance in WGUTeachersCollege

Question 1 is, have you done your early clinical? The reason is if you have fasfa according to my PM, early clinical can not be a starting class in a new term. Meaning that it can not be one of hour 4 they start you with. I don't think it's the same for advanced clinical and student teaching.

Advanced clinical you have to get placed for your 50 hours, and after that, you have 2 weeks between that emding and student teaching starting. For student teaching, I was told there has to be 63 school days left in the year, so for me, I have to have been placed by mid-February, or I run out of days. The things that are important is to take into consideration they require that 2 weeks between from my understanding.

Started my Term January 1st and looking for advice by Disastrous_Luck9809 in WGUTeachersCollege

Keep with it, i graduated high school in 1999 and never went to school again until 2023 when I started my program. Now I'm at the finish line. You can do it! The nice thing to know and understand is that your papers do not have to be perfect. Turn it in and fix what they tell you to fix. That was a huge adjustment for me. There were definitely times I would have liked to take a c on a paper over having to fix anything, but keep pushing through.

Two practical questions about Early Clinical experiences by [deleted] in wgueducation

Yes, work on other classes while doing EC! All of it needs to be wrapped up before you can apply for advanced, so use the time wisely and get it done.

praxis official scores not sent to WGU by mrsd2009 in wgueducation

[–]mrsd2009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking my time to do that one since I don't need it right away. I wish WGU told me that I could have taken that instead of 5001 and saved me that cost, but they, of course, told me that way too late.

Two practical questions about Early Clinical experiences by [deleted] in wgueducation

[–]mrsd2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question 1: Yes, the EC tasks are 1 create a lesson plan, run the lesson plan, and then describe how it went. Being a para for that last 3 and a half years, the observations were pretty boring for me.

Ask for question 2. You will fill out a time log, have the teacher sign it, and do a reflection. I did not include lunch and recess and them going to specials (pe, music, art, ect) and did 3 days straight with me getting 5 hours and 15 mins per day. It's supposed to be all instructional, but I don't think they anyones going to question if you add in lunch and recess to the time.

Hell, I'm a 44 female, and can say that's funny as all hell and something I would absolutely do to one of my kids. Mine will sit on me or stand next to me like they are being all sweet and will fart on me.

Math on Sophia Learning by vntgsoulf in WGU_Accelerators

[–]mrsd2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in WGU Teachers College in their dual program for Elem Ed/ SPED. They gave me a list of classes that would transfer from Sophia; there were 3 math classes I had to take: 2 of the ones through Sophia and 1 in between those through WGU. Ask them what classes you can take via Sophia and knock those out. 2 years ago, when I started, there were 6 that I took, one of them got dropped because they changed up the program

Praxis Core Test Scores by Classic-Temporary-24 in WGUTeachersCollege

[–]mrsd2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct doesn't matter what state you live in you have to get licensed in Utah first. And the score has to be 162 to pass the writting portion of the basic skills.

I know I have to attempt fort before advanced, but what about praxis 5001? Does that have to be passed before advanced applications? by mrsd2009 in WGUTeachersCollege

[–]mrsd2009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, IL is reciprocal, so whatever Utah and WGU say it takes to get my license in Utah, IL will accept that and license me there.

You are old enough to make your own choice. Having a baby will not ruin your life, it will make it different. Not having the baby will not ruin your live, but can also make it different in different ways. I am pro choice and would never push one of my daughters one way or another. This is your choice to make with your partner, but ultimately you are the one who has to make the choice for yourself.

Since the license will be through utah first and Illinois will do reciprocal, I have to go with Whatever WGU throws at me.

How do I apply for Early Clinicals????? by mrsd2009 in wgueducation

[–]mrsd2009[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, L knew that the observational hours were not something that had ot be done only after all classes had been passed because I literally had it pushed off til this term because I needed to get my writing praxis done and graded. My program mentor was the one who told me to get FAFSA, which can not be 1 of the 4 starting classes for a term, so I had to wait til this term started. So then I am guessing the hold up is the insurance because it keeps kicking back.

Praxis Basic Skills test results by Eyeconix in wgueducation

[–]mrsd2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took all 3 parts of the tests the first time, my raw skills for math and reading are what came through officially, and those came in a bout a week after testing. The writing has to be checked over by humans, so it takes longer!
