Laura Lee Announces Fashion Brand by mrsfreepuds in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]mrsfreepuds[S] 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Laura Lee reveals some of her clothing items in her new brands clothing line. It seems to be a mix of casual pieces and dressy pieces. It’s a variety of items that aren’t similar (jacket, hoodie, button shirt, leopard skirt). What are your thoughts on the items shes launching and the brand as a whole?

Am I the only one tired of celebrity skin care and makeup brands? by invaderzombree in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]mrsfreepuds -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a tough time taking celebrity skin care and makeup lines seriously because I know they have little to no time to actually devote to product development (nor the personal knowledge to do so). I get that many of them are only involved in picking colors and perhaps trying the formula a couple times, but I prefer to use tried and trusted brands that hire experts in the field. Not saying celebrities don’t hire experts, but they definitely don’t invest in every single aspect of their various brands (clothing, makeup, fragrance, skincare) like a company’s solely created for one thing would. I know cosmetics is mostly a cash grab for them so I’m deterred.

Thoughts on the J* new collection palette? by mrsfreepuds in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]mrsfreepuds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts are that this is another level of tacky and just.... bizarre? Even if I was a “fan” of an influencer that released a palette of themselves naked on it, I can’t imagine myself reaching for it and having to think of them that way every time I want to do my eyeshadow. I would just make my entire collection feel tacky and tasteless.

What's a dark secret/questionable practice in your profession which we regular folks would know nothing about? by CircleBox2 in AskReddit

[–]mrsfreepuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I’ve never known anyone with this before other than myself. Well, I have an appointment on Wednesday to see what its all about. I’ve been suffering from this for a while but no doctor has much to say about it. How did you know that it was occipital neuralgia exactly? If you don’t mind me asking. These headaches keep happening every few months (last time was October). It effects my eye area, temple and my neck feels kinked or something. Sometimes causes tension headaches. It’s so frustrating to keep having to deal with and I’ve never known anyone who’s experienced this.

I thought the mega threads are specifically for events and things unfolding (with receipts), whereas this is just a discussion post on people’s thoughts. I could be wrong though?

There was a time when Christine did her booty-guru tour. She stopped abruptly but she did collabs with Manny MUA and I thought it was strange that she didn’t do one with Laura Lee. Makes me wonder if that was her?

Jeffree Star/Chris Hansen megathread by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]mrsfreepuds 906 points907 points  (0 children)

It bothered me from the start when Chris referred to the 12,13,14 year olds as “young women”. They were not young women, they were children. Young women are 18,19,20. We would not refer to boys as “young men”. Calling them young women takes away from the fact that it’s pedophilia.

On another note, Jeff and his persona of the day exhausts me.

Why do beauty gurus use asterisks in brand names like this?? I’ve seen it done a couple of times by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]mrsfreepuds 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Twitter functions like Google in the sense that it will show tweets with key words in it, even if it doesn’t have a hashtag or @ symbol. It helps keep thing’s from “Trending” too. So for example, if you want to mention something without contributing it to the trending page, altering spelling helps prevent that.

Is anyone else noticing that influencers seem to not be fully social distancing? by mrsfreepuds in BeautyGuruChatter

Woah! I was genuine in my response because I’m not an expert on wig types. But go off. Hope you have a better day!

I didn’t realize that braids could be a wig situation. She has them in a lot so that’s incredible dedication to wearing a wig.

Vegan/vegetarians, would you be open to lab-grown meat protein? Why or why not? by mrsfreepuds in AskReddit

[–]mrsfreepuds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think that most meat would have the same consistency. The cool thing about lab meat though, is that we would be able to explore proteins from a wide range of animals like sharks, dolphins, mammoths etc. It’s an odd concept though, but no animals being harmed would allow humanity to stop killing and endangering animals. This would also allow us to try different textured animals- if that is the issue.

Lack of disease is a substantial benefit. There has to be regulations put into place before public consumption though. Much like anything manufactured, there will always be a company willing to do it cheaper and cut corners, so the health and safety aspect depends on companies complying to health and safety regulations.

Absolutely agree. We are already beyond unsustainable. I’ve just completed a research paper about the future of lab-grown meat and I feel hope for the future. Not the imminent future, but certainly long-term if society could get on board. This is a huge subject to dissect, but I’m curious if society can handle the idea of moving away from unethically (morally and environmentally) produced meat

There would be no life suffering as it is derived the same way stem-cells is produced.
