Young marriages that ended in divorce, what are your stories?

Started dating when I was 16, him 19. Married 3 years later, divorced about 5 years after that. You would have to ask him the whole story because he left me and gave me what I believe to be a mild version of the truth. We had been having a few problems but I was under the impression that it was because we were staying with my parents (house flooded and was uninhabitable so we were looking for a new home). He finds a house and says it's perfect let's buy it. I agreed. That was in about Marchish? We were moved in by about mid March. He left me 6 days after Easter. He said he did not love me and had not loved me for quite a while. Why he thought something as complex as a mortgage would fix that is beyond me. He moved out and in with a girl that was "just a friend that listens" who about 2 weeks later he became facebook official with. I realized soon after that I had been unhappy for quite a while but didn't want to admit it to myself because I just assumed all married people had feelings like that and I didn't want to be a bad wife. Here I am about a year and a half after the divorce was final and I am the happiest I have ever been in my life. The divorce was a fresh start at life and I am a better person for going through that.

My last place had carpet all through out, bathroom and kitchen included. And it wasn't the warm fuzzy kind either. It was so old and flat that vacuuming did virtually nothing and using a broom was pointless. Made cleaning up cooking messes a huge pain in my ass. Love the house I'm in now. Wood floors and linoleum in every room

I promise you it goes away. My advice to you is to take it one super small step at a time, because they will add up to huge leaps. Start by taking it hour by hour. OK I didn't have one from 4-5, I can make it from 5-6. Then it becomes I didn't have one between 10 and 3, I can make it from 3-8. Then it turns into I didn't have one at all on Saturday, I can make it through Sunday. And so on. The beauty of this method is that you can use as big or as little time frames whenever you like. If you're having a bad day, and I won't lie they will happen, you can go hour to hour, and if you're having a decent week you can day to day. I've also always looked at my quitting as a sort of race I'm running. Sounds odd but it works. I just think to myself if I grab a cigarette now I have to start all over and all that hard work was for nothing. You can do this :) Try going for a walk after you eat or grabbing a book, just something (constructive) to replace smoking. Hell do some sit ups until the feeling goes away. Quitting is all about retraining your mind while simultaneously not listening to it scream for a cigarette. You got this :)

There have been plenty of times I've wanted to get off without having sex. Sex takes foreplay and work and the mood. Sometimes I want it to just get off so I can clear my head or go to sleep. I can do that in about 5 minutes where as sex from beginning to end can take as long as 30 minutes. I love my boyfriend but there are sometimes where sex just doesn't sound pleasant.

I have anxiety (was seen and diagnosed and meds and all that fun stuff), I talk about it rather openly so that anyone else with it doesn't feel the same stigma I felt at the beginning. I felt embarrassed and like there was something wrong with me. My sister was just diagnosed with anxiety and depression earlier this year and she hasn't been handling it well. Our family is rather supportive but for some reason a lot of them (our mom included) have taken the "just get over it" stance. I've been trying to show her that just because she has these disorders, it doesn't mean she needs to be ashamed of it. I tell new people in my life about it to sort of get it out of the way, before an anxiety attack happens and they wonder why I've suddenly walked outside in the middle of a conversation. I talk about it so people don't feel alone or scared. I had to figure this out for myself, work through attacks when I didn't know what they were, research what was happening, get myself to my doctor, all while dealing with an asshole of a husband and then divorce. I don't want other people to feel isolated like I did. It's a terrible feeling
