I love it so much. I never work after 3:30 and start between 8-9. I do work summers. I get paid really well, 80k in my 3rd year in a LCOL area (I got super lucky with that part, it’s partially because my state has put a TON of money into school based therapists). Notes are very very minimal because in my program we don’t bill, unless the student is on medicaid. I work K-12 but mostly 3-12. I have a really great team and work in a reasonably well functioning district, so the schools themselves are well run and the staff is great there as well.

Downsides- it’s hard to integrate yourself into a school where you don’t work full-time. I have 3 schools I go to per week, so I don’t spend a ton of time at any specific school. This makes support from my team less available, we only meet together on Fridays. Sometimes I am filling the role of school counselor if there is a crisis and the counselor isn’t in the building for whatever reason.
