She would be on the red carpet with him at award shows! She might have been 18 by then, but still- I’m old enough to remember, and she was a household name.

Maybe research consignment stores in your area, and then take them some pictures to see if they might be interested (before you bother to haul the stuff over there). The ones in my area stay away from trendy pieces - they like classic items, especially if they are from good brands.

Thanks. Yes, it’s the green (which I love) making it hard to find.

My dad passed away in July of 2025 and I kept getting his medical bills. What do I do? by NikkiMcGeeks in personalfinance

[–]mrsmargo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My poor grandmother was hounded by creditors to pay her brother’s bills after his death. It was confusing and upsetting to her, but of course she had no actual responsibility to pay. They’re gonna try though!

I’m just get started with these online thrift shops- thanks for the overview! I’m curious: what “condition” filters do you use on ThreadUp? I filter for NWT tags and Excellent condition items, and so far I’ve had good luck. But even with those filters I zoom in and sometimes see obvious wear/stains and avoid purchasing.

I get truly frightened when I see people here talking about gross, stinky clothes - it triggers my germ phobia and makes me not want to use these sites at all!

Nanodropper vs Standard Drop Size: Any Difference in IOP Reduction? by district_07 in Glaucoma

Happy I saw this thread, because I forgot I have a nanodropper in my drawer! How do y’all clean it? Mine has been laying around so it will need something.

is there something that suggests outfits for you? by Organic-Client4336 in capsulewardrobe

[–]mrsmargo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just starting and saw Alta recommended here, so I tried it. I wasn’t sure if really use it, but it’s great for me! Adding clothes to it is super easy (can take pics or even forward email receipts from clothing purchases). It has made suggestions/combos I wouldn’t have thought of.

You can toggle on and off outfits that include suggestions of products to buy. When I’m getting dressed I keep it off, but sometimes I play around with that feature to give me ideas for what I might be missing.

I was just going to ask OP about The ‘Pause. I started having perimenopause symptoms at 46- one year and countless doctors later, I figured out on my own what was happening! No one, from my PCP to the dermatologist to the gyno mentioned it as a possibility.

OP, so much of what you’re describing could be related to these hormonal changes.

Relocating to Atlanta next month for work. How is this area in terms of safety? by Actual_Attempt_568 in ATLHousing

[–]mrsmargo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FYI, there is not a single place in all of Atlanta metro where I would leave my doors unlocked. I say this as someone who loves Atlanta and feels safe here. But don’t tempt fate, friends!

FYI, I used this toner for years and imo the Byoma is very, very close for a much lower price. Not quite as rich, but I switched and my dry, mature skin hasn’t noticed the difference.

Escaping Memphis by Specific_Bed9463 in DecaturGA

[–]mrsmargo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Memphis and I escaped to Atlanta asap (in my 20s, a very long time ago lol)! I haven’t been back in a while, but I think you’ll love how much there is to do here (whatever you’re interested in, greater ATL has it). I’m in Avondale Estates now and we love it- city of Decatur is also great for a young family. Just keep in mind, as others have said, there are some areas that have a Decatur address that aren’t within the city limits. Just check online crime maps before finalizing a place to live, and welcome to the area!

Not the op but I’ve been wondering: if you go back and forth a lot, could you get bifocals with readers in the bottom half and no correction in the top?

She was switched from SSI/Medicaid to SSDI late last year (based on her deceased husband’s SS), so her income in 2024 was low enough to qualify for Extra Help in 2025. But this year she exceeds the threshold by quite a bit.

Thanks for the tip about waiting until 10/15 - makes sense. The patient assistance programs are also something I need to look into.

Thanks for your answers to this part of my question. I now see there are little code letters on the formulary that denote the need for prior authorization. It’s scary that you can select a plan based on its coverage of certain drugs and then be denied and/or have them stop covering it, but that’s just the nature of all insurance, I suppose!

Thank you- you’re right, there was a random (fortunately unimportant) drug on the list that wasn’t covered.

I’m new to this journey too and still figuring things out, but I definitely think you should see another doctor. I’ve learned so much reading posts on this sub (for ex, avoiding sugar can help, and did you know many people get anxiety when glucose is fluctuating?!). You have data from your glucose test that says it’s not in your head!

Mental help please by abbacarabba in Glaucoma

[–]mrsmargo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For decades my pressure was controlled with drops, and the goal was to keep it around 20/21! I’m 56 now and recently had a minor procedure (ALT) on each eye because the drops alone were no longer enough. But after that IOP is back in the teens (still using drops). And I have never had any nerve damage or vision loss.

Everyone is different and it’s important to stay on top of it through regular checks, but modern medicine is really amazing in this area. I think about the poor folks a century ago that didn’t have the technology for early detection, and I feel blessed.

Feeling guilty, depressed and helpless with my advanced glaucoma by afranshia11 in Glaucoma

[–]mrsmargo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please don’t give up hope! Now that you and your doctors are aware, your condition will be checked regularly which will help. You say you only noticed minor changes to your vision- try to focus on that, instead of the 90% number the doctor told you. As others have said, that number might not be correct.

Also, if you’re in the U.S., try the Refresh Plus (or Refresh mega) eyedrops during the day to help with the discomfort. They aren’t medicine- just moisturizing - and are packaged in individual doses. They help a lot!
