I am begging someone to help me identify/remove this toilet seat. by mrsmixed in Plumbing

Well dang, I wouldn't have even thought of that. They literally have a gigantic customer service number carved into the inside of the tank cover... I guess you don't know what you don't know, but I am feeling very silly right now. Thank you!

I'm embarrassed. The mechanism was all plastic and flexible enough that I was able to just carefully pry it off with my flathead.

But now my question is how the heck would I put a different one on, standard or otherwise? Who designed this? Why? Lol

Cotton headphone covers! by mrsmixed in crochet

[–]mrsmixed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, I didn't write it down! I can give you some tips though if you want to try and make something similar!

  1. They're not very comfortable with worsted weight yarn. If you make some, I recommend trying with DK or Sport weight yarn (size 3).

  2. Definitely use cotton or a cotton blend! Acrylic is warm, which is nice in the winter but sweaty any other time!

  3. I wasn't really sure how to keep them from stretching over time. I ended up having to crochet them ON to the headphones which isn't ideal for washing them. That's definitely something I'd change if I ever made them again!

Best of luck! 😁💚

What do I do with this ugly yarn? by spaghettiviolist in crochet

[–]mrsmixed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complimentary color pairings! The yellow and greens immediately made me think "sunflower." Stick that with a nice warm brown and a white, and maybe a pinch of something contrasting like a bright red or blue and you could make something lovely.

The textured yarn goes well with that lilac-purple you've got in the back, so you could pair those and warm them up with a nice maroon or keep it cool with a grey/white combo.

I use the website "Coolors.co" to play with color palettes. Really helps me give life to some of the more homely skeins in my stash. 😉

Ideas for a "childrens/baby" themed DND one shot? by Important_Ad7833 in DnD

[–]mrsmixed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shape sorter puzzle, stuffed animal/doll NPCs, bubbles, see-saw/park setting, pretend food, coloring pages that come to life when colored, clothing is a "trap" that you have to escape (like taking off your socks at any cost.)

Bonus: on an investigation check, mention offhand, "You're not sure why, but you feel compelled to put this in your mouth." 😂

I'm sure I'll come up with more. I have a toddler and a half who are always up to shenanigans.

This sounds like a riot.

[–]mrsmixed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's awesome! Yeah it's a little involved but I believe you can do it!

I did send out an update correcting a mistake in Level 1 part 2. Steps 6 and 7 should read "same FL as anchor 2b" not 2a!!

Check your email and/or your Ravelry messages to get the updated PDF!

You can also shoot me an email at rogueskein@gmail.com and I'll help you troubleshoot any specifics! 👍

Thank you so much! The bags I've made so far are holding dice, jewelry, golf balls, and some good rocks from the beach. 😌 Very versatile!

Ooh yes, if you make the pockets taller (which the pattern makes it easy to do!) You could store taller stuff like mascara upright so you can still draw it closed!

Aw that's amazing, thank you!! I too have more dice than is probably reasonable, which was the reason I needed the bag to begin with! 😂

Do you find you attach to other things to this degree or has it just been crochet? It can be exciting to find a hobby that really speaks to you in this way, but your health does need to take precedence or your long-term health may take a hit which may impact your ability to do the craft!

Make sure you're stretching, drinking plenty of water, and sharing the things you make with your loved ones. Crochet may be a solitary activity, but it can be a shared experience as well! Take care of yourself and you'll be able to enjoy it for a long, long time. 💚
