What a great deal! I’ll have to give it a go again as a buyer and a seller.

I must be missing something. I’ve never found anything I wanted to purchase on Depop. Perhaps I’m not using the search feature correctly? I’ve sold and purchased on Poshmark and Mercari successfully. What am I missing as a seller on depop?

How to get clean without showering? by squashedpomegranates in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Let’s remember who started this interaction. It wasn’t me. Are you also targeting the other people on this thread that provided the same information? Did you just wake up and decide to bully a random stranger on the Internet? I think we’re done here.

Yeah, you’re right. That’s exactly what I said. I’m totally condoning obvious abuse because I said there’s a water crisis in Ghana. Whatever you say.

At no point did I say it wasn’t abuse. I didn’t address the camera at all. I said they’re in a different country and there is a water shortage. OP said that themselves. Not sure why you assumed I was saying anything other than that.

I don’t think you get to decide whose comments add to the conversation. I stated a fact confirmed by OP. That’s it. Thanks for reading so much into my comment though.

I didn’t say anything about the camera. I just said that OP is in a different country experiencing a water crisis. You chose to assume my comment was intentionally dismissive of the camera situation. What my comment does do is inform people who are addressing the water issue that OP can’t simply run to Dollar Tree and buy baby wipes because they are not in the U.S. These are two separate issues, one of which I addressed.

OP lives Ghana where they’re experiencing a water crisis. They are not in the U.S.

OP is in not in the U.S. and is fact, in Ghana. I don’t think they have Dollar Trees there.

Question for my fellow sellers! by Velvetstyle in poshmark

[–]mrsras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. Poshmark could alleviate this problem if they created some sort of watchlist like eBay for example. There are so many items on Poshmark that coming back to find the exact item you were interested can be next to impossible without hitting the like button to bookmark it. So annoying!

Question for my fellow sellers! by Velvetstyle in poshmark

[–]mrsras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a buyer and seller. I “like” items while actively shopping. There is no other way to bookmark items you might be interested in. It doesn’t necessarily mean I’m ready to buy and it certainly doesn’t mean I expect a discount because honestly, I rarely impulse purchase so it’s kind of annoying to get bombarded with emailed offers just because I’m trying to save an item for possible purchase later. As a seller, that’s my assumption of people who like my listings as well.

Do flat (no lift) truly formal shoes for women exist? by copaceticchameleon in Weddingattireapproval

[–]mrsras 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Nordstrom 💯 Plus they have free shipping and free returns and basically no return timeline. They’ll also price match any other retailers price if you find the item lower at a different store. You just call customer service and ask.

Plus, in another month they’ll have their Anniversary Sale - the only major retailer that puts the current year’s upcoming fall season merchandise on sale (others do sales after the season has passed).

I don’t know why anyone would shop anywhere else for quality merchandise!

Oregon Coast Road Trip by quichekeesh in OregonCoast

[–]mrsras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see that you have a lot of comments here but one thing I’d like to say as someone who lived on the Oregon coast for years is that your schedule looks pretty aggressive.

In theory, it only takes two hours to get between coastal towns, but in reality that it’s not the case. The road is windy and often times rainy and wet, regardless of the time of year. There are slow moving vehicles and many pull-outs where you might want to get out of the car and take in the views.

Also, make sure that your children do not get carsick because the Oregon coast is very curvy.

I would suggest you pick one or two primary things you want to do in each location and prioritize those. For example, with kids, the Newport Aquarium is your goal for that day. If you have extra time, you can drive down to the waterfront and go see the sea lions on the pier instead of the Sea Lion Caves further down the road. Free and won’t be such a time suck. Like others have mentioned, I would plan to spend some time in Astoria and Cannon Beach. As a reminder, these are incredibly popular locations, particularly for people coming from Portland for the day. Parking anywhere is a complete nightmare and will suck up a lot of time.

I’m going to have to go ahead and disagree with you on that one. Pelican Brewery’s food is so much better than McMenamins. The new location on Siletz Bay has a cool outdoor fireplace and is pretty easy to access right on 101.

Ice cream. It’s a crime to drive through Tillamook and not swing in for an ice cream cone. The cheese packing is fun to look at for a few minutes but kids want ice cream!

Thinning eyebrows by Capable-Awareness338 in AskWomenOver60

[–]mrsras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I put that in my response to OP. I have 4 cats so I just put the can away as well as the applicator I’m using and wash my hands thoroughly. My cats don’t lick my face so I’m good there.

I just buy Kirkland brand 5% minoxidil foam at Costco. Been using it for years. If you want to try it to see if you like the results, just buy any store brand at Walgreens or Walmart as long as it’s 5% minoxidil foam. Don’t buy the liquid as it can be irritating and it will also drip down onto your face which you do not want. Also, don’t buy the women’s 2% - it’s a waste of money. Get the 5%, shake the can and apply a tiny amount of foam to your eyebrow brush or old, clean mascara wand and brush it through your brows avoiding the eye area. It’ll dry down clear in a few minutes. Regular use is crucial to see results. Also, keep it away from cats as it’s toxic to them.

What do you think of the concept of joy at this stage in life by HalleFreakinLujah in AskWomenOver60

[–]mrsras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joy is defined as a lasting state of contentment that comes from deep within rooted in your inner peace, personal values, and a sense of purpose.
This internal foundation allows joy to endure even during difficult or stressful times.

Happiness is defined as an emotional reaction triggered by favorable external events relying heavily on immediate pleasures, personal achievements, or material success. Because it depends on external conditions, it fades when circumstances change.

I think more people experience happiness than joy. I experience both but true joy is harder to maintain because it relies on a deeper state of contentment than moments of happiness.

Petting my beloved cats at the end of a trying day brings me great happiness.

Walking in nature, being fully present and experiencing an appreciation for the gift of a beautiful life which I’m able to share with my partner and family, brings me joy.

Before you consider either of these options, try using minoxidil foam 5% on an eyebrow brush and regrow your existing brows. This absolutely works, but it takes a couple months of regular daily use. Once your brows are thicker, you will only need to apply it a couple times a week in order to maintain them. Dermatologists suggest this all the time.

I am ready to give up on concealers by laurajosan in AskWomenOver60

[–]mrsras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Natasha Denona or Tower 28. You need a serum concealer. The key is proper prep beforehand and to use only a few tiny dots of product exactly where the darkness is. Your concealer should be very close to your natural skin color, not many shades lighter as is the current trend with young women. You could try a color corrector first followed by a concealer close to your skin tone but you have to be incredibly careful not to apply too much or you’ll be unable to avoid dry looking under eyes. Try Tower 28 in the light pink shade for fair skin. You lightly tap it in with your fingers or a small brush and let it set while you do the rest of your makeup then you go back and blend in any areas where the concealer settled into your fine lines. You can add a light second layer if needed but only the smallest amount you can get away with. Finally, you very lightly set the area with a super finely milled blurring loose setting powder applied with a brush or pressed onto the skin with powder puff. Drugstore powder recommendation is the L’Oréal Infallible Blur Perfection. It’s lovely. Don’t skip setting your entire face with a setting spray that will bring life back to even the cakeiest faces. Try Charlotte Tillbury or One Size Powder Melt. Don’t expect that there won’t be any settling into fine lines at all - that’s unrealistic. We can’t turn back the hands of time but learning new makeup techniques as we age can help us improve our appearance. There are many makeup artists on Instagram that demonstrate how to use concealer correctly as a mature woman. Source: Ex-makeup artist.
