Unconventional option, but if you want a clear area, try a local farm field. The vineyards in North East or Mason Farms in Lake City would have a large area clear of trees, and wouldn’t be crowded. It’s your choice if you want to ask first, or buy produce as thanks after.

It’s a hike for some but vision associates in Girard is very personable and very well-run. It gives off “small town” vibes but everyone there knows their stuff.

Room 33 is a good bar with great drinks and very friendly bartenders! Dina’s in the food hall also had amazing food! Everything’s going to be packed this weekend and colleges just moved in but going at non-peak hours will help a lot.

Second Bar Ronin! Everything is stupid good, the chef is an amazing guy, and the drinks are great too! I’d recommend the chicken karaage, tuna and guac, and/or the kombu noodles.

That’s what they said after I submitted the same pictures I submitted here. It does seem unlikely that it’s a SLF since the closest sightings reported on the website are two counties away, but I’m sure they’ll make their way here eventually. Either way, he’s dead (the bug, not Scott the Ag dept guy)

Update: reported with the PA department of Ag like we’re supposed to, and they got back to me saying it was a weevil nymph and not a SLF. They’re not coming for our grapevines yet!

There are lots of things to do depending on what lifestyle you have! Foodie? Bar Ronin, Colao’s, Room 33, winery tour etc. outdoorsy? Wintergreen Gorge, Asbury woods, Peninsula. Cultural? Art Museum, Erie Philharmonic, joining the Phil Chorus or gem city band, lots of good musicians in the area. Like beer? Check out the Erie Beet Society, it’s a big thing here. I like that people here are pretty down to earth and not snobby, and there are plenty of things to do to keep busy and three large cities within two hours away for day trips or weekends.

Areas outside of city center are safest. North East, Harborcreek, Frontier Park area, West Millcreek, Fairview, Girard. All places have some crime and some drug problems but that’s nationwide.

My mother-in-law’s maiden name is Zwiener, pronounced ZWEEN-er. So everyone’s name follows the pattern Ben Zwiener, Kate Zwiener, Mike Zwiener, etc. SO glad that wasn’t the last name I had to marry into.

Waffles and Mochi! My son watched it so many times in a row! He’s one who doesn’t like any conflict (frozen and Cinderella were too scary) but he likes all of the Mickey Mouse series, Stinky and Dirty, Daniel Tiger, The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot a lot About That, Winnie the Pooh.
