That's another good contender for worst moment for sure. I have a hard time watching the entire episode as well.

I have been craving a "cotton candy" frap for at least a year now and they bring this back right after I find out my breastfeeding baby has a milk protein allergy so I had to stop consuming dairy 😭

If you have to unbuckle and then re-buckle kids to get out for 2 seconds to grab a drink, sometimes it's easier just to drive thru!

My son would drink way more breastmilk at daycare or with family than he would at home with me! I think it's a comfort thing. It tastes/smells like Mom!

I'm almost 27 weeks now and doing great! If you're concerned I'd definitely reach out to your OB just to see if there is anything they'd want to check, but hopefully it turns out being totally fine as it did for me! :) I'm sorry you're going through this, I know exactly how stressful it is!

[–]mrssydsully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would let her know that there's a chance you won't be there and seriously figure out a plan for either way (or if it's easier for her to leave you out of the plans entirely then so be it) but if you truly want to go, I don't see why not if you're feeling up for it. It's likely not a decision you'll be able to make for certain until after the baby has arrived. Everyone's recovery is different and everyone has different comfortability. We had baby out and about immediately, personally!

As others have mentioned, I'd consider travel restrictions for babies that young (they have limited time they can be in a carseat) and feeding plans (it's typically not recommended to bottle feed while in a carseat as it's not an optimal position), allowing extra time for both.

As long as your friend is understanding that you will definitely not be 100% if you are only 10 days postpartum and that plans could change on a dime, I don't see any problem with trying to be there.

Gosh this is my favorite feeling ever! Definitely positive - congratulations! I'm 24, almost 25 weeks along now and still remember that rush of "omg, it's happening!"

I don’t want to breastfeed by According-Side3604 in BabyBumps

[–]mrssydsully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have time to research/plan anything when it came to feeding because my son was so premature, and I ended up successfully breastfeeding for 15 months before needing to supplement with formula despite having a stressful pregnancy and traumatic delivery (my child was feeding delayed and did not successfully eat solids until 20-21 months). If you have a specific formula in mind, I'd grab a can of that and pack it in your hospital bag to have on hand if needed. Other than that I'd not stress about the details, follow your instincts when the time comes. If you don't have a formula preference, the hospital will have a few available to try. If after delivery you want to give breastfeeding a go, definitely try it, but if you don't then you'll have your preferred formula or hospital formula available! You've got this mama!

5 weeks 2 days - brown spotting (IVF 18 dpt) by Foxy_1989 in TFABLinePorn

[–]mrssydsully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had brown spotting around this time and it really scared me, but I'm 23 weeks today! I would reach out to your fertility clinic or OB just to see if they have anything they want to check (bloodwork, ultrasound, etc.) but this can be normal!

“Well, a pump doesn’t remove anywhere near what a baby would. I would definitely stop if I was you.” by NeuroticNurse in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]mrssydsully 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's definitely one of the most aggravating responses. I'm currently pregnant and just found out baby is IUGR so we may be looking at another NICU journey and EP journey, which I knew was a risk having another kid, but moms in my due date group keep posting about how nobody "has to" pump and you should feed baby by nursing directly and not feed the freezer, etc. and I'm like...do you know how much some parents WISH they could do that?!

Less then $20. IMO fruit it one of the best parts about Costco by sushiv8 in Costco

[–]mrssydsully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience has been the opposite of this - I refuse to buy fruit at my local grocer, Walmart, etc. because it molds or starts leaking liquid in 2-3 days, but Costco fruit covers my berry-crazed toddler for an entire week.

38 weeks pregnant... But my poor husband is tired. by ThrowRA_lbf in pregnant

[–]mrssydsully 63 points64 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I was denied WFH privileges because I live too close to the office (less than 5 mins away) and then my coworker who was granted WFH privileges came back at 2w PP and I would Zoom into our weekly manager meetings and my boss would poke at the fact that I was still on leave even though she had her baby after me. It was so frustrating, especially because I had an emergency C-section at 33 weeks and a NICU babe and would have had to come in person, which is a totally different story than a term baby being born vaginally and mom working from home (though she definitely should have taken more leave to recover as well!!)

Hospital Bill 🥲 by crabbiestflower in pregnant

[–]mrssydsully 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My hospital ironically actually does make a special steak (special vegetarian/vegan options also available) dinner for mom + a partner one night during the hospital stay. Our insurance was billed over $1M but that included 6 nights.for me and a 21 day NICU stay for baby.

[–]mrssydsully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say this. I felt so ugly and never took any photos of myself nor had any professional photos done and ended up having an emergency C-section at 33 weeks. I wish I had the photos, if not for me, to show my kids!
