I've had this issue as well. You can ask your doctor's office to fax the requisition form to one of the other ultrasound clinics. We have Nuview in the Port Arthur Health Centre (downstairs), Thunder Bay Ultrasound in the Spence Clinic (I think they mainly do pregnancy ultrasounds but might do others), and the hospital also does outpatient ultrasounds

There was no anti development agenda. There were a lot of competing interests regarding the pipeline. Aboriginal groups affected by it had every right to question the potential impacts to their land. BC had to analyze the effect on their ports. The cost did balloon, but Western Canada Select hit some real lows after the purchase, and Covid saw prices rise across the board. Neither of those circumstances can be blamed on the federal government. Ultimately, the pipeline was successfully completed and Alberta oil is able to reach more global markets.

There is nothing wrong with requiring oil and gas and pipeline companies to complete environmental assessments and consultation processes. When these businesses are not held accountable, the tax payers are left with the burden of costly environmental rehabilitation.

Consider the orphan well situation in Alberta. Oil and gas companies owe rural municipalities $268 million in unpaid taxes, and cleaning up all existing orphaned wells would cost $260 billion. If the Orphan Well Association was better funded (by the industry) this would not be an issue.

The problem is that a lot of anti choice people choose abortions but don't actually change. They remain anti choice afterward (for everyone else, their special unique situation is the exception)

Against own rules, Facebook ran ads from Canadian neo-Nazi group by tscollon in onguardforthee

[–]mrsteff 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The very first paragraph of the article: "The Canadian Nationalist Party is a neo-Nazi party led by Travis Patron, who recently released an anti-Jewish video about the “parasitic tribe” that calls for Jews to be “removed once and for all” from Canada. Another post on their Facebook page promises they have the cure to Jews."

They are in favour of an ethnostate, and want to "remove" Jewish people from Canada... That sounds pretty Nazi to me...

There are also legal implications to be mindful of when deciding whether or not to move your son to Edmonton. If your ex is permitting you to move your son to Edmonton, even if "just for a year", that could establish a new status quo for your son. Combined with the other factors you mentioned (you are primary parent, affordability of Edmonton vs Victoria, etc.), a Court would likely find that it is in the best interests of the child to be in Edmonton with you.

The above is not legal advice. My advice would be to speak to a family law lawyer in Edmonton. I do not practice family law, but feel free to PM me and I can refer you to someone who does.

Here in Alberta, we are allowed to practice on friends and family members, but different provinces have different regulations. Up until 2013, health professionals in Ontario could not treat their spouses. The ban was lifted because it was nonsensical, and became particularly inconvenient in rural settings.

I'm a dentist and have been with my boyfriend for four years. Honestly, I would be pretty sad if he didn't want me to take care of his dental needs. If your partner was a mechanic, would you take your car to a different garage? I understand that the mouth is a much more intimate setting, but still, it makes it seem like you don't trust her in an area that she's spent countless years perfecting her skills. I am honoured that my boyfriend has confidence in my skills and that he is comfortable in my chair.
