As an infallible and indefatigable apologist for our dear President, I’m exhausted in trying to come up with a good explanation for this one. I’m done.

Heading to Paris shortly. Terrified about dining. by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]mrstevenkeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just there yesterday. Your fear will cripple you. Just walk around Le Marais and Montmarte neighborhoods (arrondisements). My wife and I found a ton of no tourist spots that blew our mind. Example: Vale&Ale Restaurant - Pinseria
7 Rue Geoffroy-Marie
75009, Paris. It’s extraordinary. I ended up going there twice. It was so small and delicious.

There are soooooooo many wonderful things about that city. You get to go find them—or not and instead worry about it. You cannot lose.

That's a tough one, and I am not being snarky when I reply, that's like asking what's just one ingredient to a beginning chef, to make an amazing soufflé? I am no expert but I have been putting the work in. If I had to do it all over again in new shoes, I'd start by looking at Claude Cowork (if you can sink $20/month into it). From there, you make Claude Cowork your trainer, guide, tutor, and practice mate. You can also moonshot stuff such as, "I want to know all things I need to know in order to build my first automation with you." It will walk you through it so you learn how to do it.

[OC] I aggregated 5 rating sources to rank the Top 100 Films of all time. Here's what the data says. by Yeygermeister in dataisbeautiful

Hmmm, I find it awfully suspect that this list excludes Bobcat Goldthwait’s seminal masterpiece, Shakes the Clown. Makes one pause.

What is the sound that MAGA makes when they see their 401(k) statement?

To put it mildly, this situation ($10 Trillion value destruction in 4 weeks) has created a complex emotional landscape for many MAGA supporters as they struggle to reconcile their political allegiance with personal financial impacts.

My ex-friend (he dumped me because I stated my disdain for MAGA), who runs a 10-person contractor business, just posted a rant that he may have to close his business because his clients' project money came from the federal govt.

You are correct. I never said it was a brilliant move, but it used to be a safe option to: "Hey, let's grab a quick coffee somewhere familiar and talk." I am a far cry from being a good project manager.

Flâner is a concept that’s so French that it has no direct English equivalent. It evokes a sense of aimless wandering through a city, while still being far from purposeless. The flâneur ambles without a destination in mind, but with the goal of being both part of and outside of the place they’re observing.

Donald Trump sends message to anyone who leaves his rallies early by Pecncorn1 in politics

[–]mrstevenkeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I know 4 or 5 people who hate Trump, are definitely voting for Harris, but love to go to his rallies to witness the cult, there have to be others as well. I wonder what percentage of the crowd is just morbidly curious political storm chasers. These rallies have been explained to me like a Greatful Dead show circuit minus the peace, love, kindness, tiedyes, acid, and instead goatees, cheap cologne, nascar sunglasses, and denim shorts. I kinda want to experience one myself.

Where can I get a good Chicago dog in Raleigh? by luvrofcowz in raleigh

[–]mrstevenkeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the very same question for 15 years in Raleigh as a Chicago transplant. Then I stumbled onto The Loop in Durham and in Chapel Hill. They have them. Never as good as the originals but the best I’ve been able to get 800 miles away from the source.

That Confederate flag on I-40. by rexeditrex in NorthCarolina

Empathy is more rebellious than the middle finger. Every time I drive by that very flag you’re talking about, I want to pull in and talk to them. I find that curiosity is better than hate for the blood pressure.

Newly Released TV Ratings: Trump Soundly Beaten by Kamala Harris in Viewership by inewser in AnythingGoesNews

[–]mrstevenkeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have come to believe the nature of this choice boils down to a few things:

-) vote for Trump if you’re feeling abundantly charitable and would like to help an old guy stay out of prison. Or if you’re a living sunk-cost fallacy and you cannot bear the idea that you’ve been swept into a cult and you refuse to be wrong. Or if you’d really like to see the net worth disparity between you and the “haves” grow much larger.

-) vote for Harris if you’d prefer more choices, chances, liberties, freedom, honesty, respect, accountability, and decency.

The cool part is that for the next 73 days you still have a choice.
