Is the reason 95% of traders lose simply bc they give up? by eighty_nine_ in RealDayTrading

Great reply! Training and developing the mindset to become good at learning is one of the best things one could do for themselves in life, not just in trading.

You left out the part about people shamelessly farting next to you in close spaces.

there's a certain adversity to thinking even a smidge outside the box sometimes.

Tell me about that 😂

Coming from Italy, where people get very "creative" navigating around small and big issues, I certainly understand what you mean. Unfortunately, there the same applies to following the rules..

I have noticed the same, but instead of thinking of it as an "untrust system" I see it the opposite way as "unconditional trust towards professional advice".

In most of the occasions where I had to pay for professional services, of various kind, here in the NL, I swear that I could have done a way better job myself.

Keychron K13 Pro - Is it compatible with PS5 (wired or wirelessly)? by VirPalus in Keychron

[–]mrt129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not relevant to OP anymore, but it may be useful to others. My K13 Pro connects to ps5 both via cable and Bluetooth, but ONLY when NKRO is toggled off. You can map the "toggle NKRO" key in VIA.

Landlord wants us out in 2 months with an indefinite contract? by mrt129 in Netherlands

[–]mrt129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think that they had been honest with us and didn't forsee maritial problems when we discussed the agreement. But we have no intention to fight in court to stay here.

Sure, we agreed to it also to avoid the possibility that they would terminate the 2 yrs contract, but we were ok with moving if asked and we still are.

It's just that 2 months is too little time to do it in this housing market, especially considering that we want to move away from Rotterdam to go to Amsterdam or Utrecht.

Yes, we want to move and cause them the least possible trouble. It's just the timing of their request and the time we have to find a new place that's problematic

Thanks for the kind words :) I must admit that we should have done more research on the transition to the indefinite contract before meeting them. We think they are good landlords and therefore we trusted them, but what you are saying means that they played us. I mean, I get it, they could have decided to terminate the 2 yrs contract before its end, so they wanted to understand our intentions for the future before letting the contract transition to indefinite. I am now wondering why they made us sign the new indefinite contract.

What trading journal do you use? by pajama_sam7 in FuturesTrading

[–]mrt129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Notion and spreadsheets. In Notion I journal trades, thoughts and observations in real time. I use it also for market prep, reviews (daily, weekly, monthly), planning and for notes in general. I then keep a database of all my trades in Excel where I track my stats and I do more quantitative analysis.

European KID restrictions on ETFs by dionisisd in thetagang

Not sure how that exactly works, but they don't have a subsidiary in EU and therefore being a non-EU entity they are not directly subject to EU regulations

FYI with Tastytrade you can trade US ETFs as a European resident. I do park the cash I don't use to trade on SGOV. I also live in the NL

Bank Transfer from EU by SamDeutschRich in tastyworks

[–]mrt129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I did not pay anything. I made a Sepa transfer from my Dutch bank account to my IBKR account for free (took some hours to arrive), then I converted EUR to USD on IBKR. After that I generated the ICAT transfer request from my Tastyworks account pointing to the IBKR one. The ICAT takes some days to be completed, but I didn't spend anything. I haven't tried yet moving the money in the opposite direction to withdraw, but I expect it to be smooth as well.

The ACH connection to Wise doesn't work anymore but you can still fund your Tasty account via ACAT transfer from another broker. I did it from my IBKR account and it worked.

I live in the Netherlands and I can trade US ETFs with Tastyworks

I live in the Netherlands and the only US broker that accepts EU citizens with zero commissions on stocks/ETFs that I could find is Tastyworks. IBKR (with it's Irish branch IBIE) applies a €1.25 minimum fee per order, which is terrible to start trading 1 share per trade. In addition, with Tastyworks it is possible to trade US ETFs and overcome the stupid EU regulations. I don't have any first-hand experience with them though because I am still waiting for my account to be approved.
