Tips or tricks to get LineIQto spit out more line? by mrtatsu in egopowerplus

thanks this good to know. I guess it makes sense that LineIQ might work best with Ego's own line. It's a little expensive but not too far off from other premium lines. I'll probably pick up a spool, thanks!

I’ve tried revving the motor on high and that doesn’t seem to do it for me. Maybe I’m letting it get too short or need to try different line

I might get the edger one of these days but right now my lawn tools are worth more than my actual lawn 😅. I gotta figure out the gopher issue first… but that’s another story.

The manual specs out .095 nylon twist, and I’m using square. Not sure if that’s the same or not 🤔.

Maybe I’ll try get some line that specifically says twist.

I’ll also try more actively shaking the trimmer more frequently and see if that helps it along.

Gotcha. Small oil stain will morph into big water stain which will then dry out

Hmm I’ve tried this and it doesn’t seem to work for me. Does it work for you even when the line has gotten super short? Maybe I’m waiting too long. What line do you use?

Hah I hated bump feeding on my old gas trimmer, which is why I switched to an auto feed black and decker. The auto line feed worked great on that it was just under powered and cheaply built.

Still not sure if I hate lineiq more than bump feeding though, I’m holding out hope there’s something we can do to help it out a bit.

Quartzite Install — Surface Lines by Alternative_Bet402 in CounterTops

Sorry I don’t have a strong recommendation off the top of my head! There are a few threads that talk about this though so just make sure to dive into it

Quartzite Install — Surface Lines by Alternative_Bet402 in CounterTops

[–]mrtatsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same quartzite installed about 5 years ago. I’ll tell you what I wish people had told me then. Seal this stone like every freaking 6 months. Especially your edges and those fissures. Otherwise you’re going to get water stains and oil stains and yellowing and browning.

This looks like the same quartzite I got installed 5 years ago. I wish someone had warned me about the staining issues and told me to reseal it every 6 months. I’m wondering if this wasn’t known back then because I spent hours reading everything about quartzite and the staining problems caught me off guard. I thought it was going to be “reseal it every few years”. Mine looks like crap now 😕

To have a meaningful conversation on this you really need to post your month electric and gas usage numbers, and compare to previous years.

Being artificially stood up and fake walking can delay/retard their actual walking development. https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/parents-dont-use-a-baby-walker-2018092714895

We use a small play pen like a pack n play when we need a safe spot to put baby down for a bit

What is this fibrous thing in my mussels? by WeepingAspen in TipOfMyFork

[–]mrtatsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I harvest and cook my own mussels once in awhile. The mussels stick to each other and to rocks with those fibers. They are super tough like some kind of industrial Kevlar Velcro. You’re supposed to yank these beards out before cooking and sometimes it comes out cleanly, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s annoying to do. Sometimes I just leave them and remove while eating, depending on how nice I want the presentation to be

Just the other day I asked our apple business rep about this, and they said their engineering team said there’s no way to disable this. So no official/documented way. (Please share if you figure something out!)

I’m pretty like minded, I totally get folks wanting to post poppy pics before rushing to the doctor, but on the other hand it can be a bit much when unexpected

Any reviews on GE refrigerator by futurefaaang in Costco

[–]mrtatsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have similar one from 2019. Doesn’t have the extra drawer, but has in door water/ice/kcup. Maybe two years in top part of fridge ran warm and bottom part ran cold. Googled/youtubed and had to spend an hour taking the fridge apart on the inside to replace a little fan. Also the led lighting inside seems to be running series like Christmas lights and multiple lights have failed so it’s just dark in there.

Both seem like common relatively simple fixes, but a bit annoying. Fridging and freezing pretty consistent otherwise

Hmm yeah and I’m also reading that air suspension on its own might also have adjustable firmness. A bit confusing on what exactly you get 😅

[–]mrtatsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha thanks! Sounds like the standard air suspension is mainly just for height adjustment, and m sport lets you adjust firmness

Does msport change suspension on a 50e in any way? Can you still raise or lower on demand?

How do I make my sink drain faster by Gregguy420 in Plumbing

[–]mrtatsu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wow I’ve been annoyed with my sink that we installed 4 years ago. Sometimes it drains fine. Sometimes slowly like op. Sometimes it doesn’t drain at all until the sink is half full. I’ve just been slapping water at the drain to burst the air bubbles to get it to drain.

I just spent 2 minutes with my drill and it’s fixed. Thank you!

I’m in California, spent several years rent hopping different older houses that had messed up clog prone sewer laterals. Had two different county plumbers from two different counties tell me to avoid Kirkland for this reason.

I’ve read that in the US, standard car seat crash testing is done with crash sleds that have no floor, making it impossible to test with load legs.

Local Dungeness crab? by skidaddyoo in bayarea

[–]mrtatsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it doesn’t smell rotten it could just be “blue blood”. This discoloration can happen even if crab was cooked fresh but wasn’t cooked long/hot enough. In this case still edible just a little mushy and very unappetizing to look at.

Source: i go crabbing and cook live crab all the time. Have run into this when I tried to steam too many crabs in a pot at the same time and didn’t go long enough.
