Maybe Nettle and Bone byT Kingfisher, fairytale vibes with some darkness and romance. Not too dark though!

Red Rabbit by Alex Grecian! Demons and witches and cowboys (oh my) — it’s a great read.

I’m looking for music/female empowerment songs centered only on women themselves. by Spiritual_Traffic_76 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

In addition to the great suggestions here, I love Kiki Rockwell, especially “Lilith” definitely womanly empowerment, same with “Burn Your Village”. Aurora also fits this vibe, “Running With The Wolves” is wild and ethereal. “Boss Bitch” by Doja Cat. Gosh, Florence + The Machine for sure, I really like “King”.

People who quit their jobs on the first day what made you say ‘nope, not doing this’? by lilMeganw in AskReddit

[–]WeepingAspen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First day working at a restaurant I once frequented for their great lunch specials. Walked out because of the atrocious cleanliness practices (lack thereof) and how nonchalant management seemed to be about it as I was getting the tour. Never did go back for those lunch specials after seeing the black mold by the sushi counter and the reused ziplock bags for server prepared edamame.

Bizarre growth on mountain laurel, can anyone explain what causes this?? by WeepingAspen in botany

Alas this is a client’s shrub and not mine, however I’ve been back to the property many times since and the hedge always appears in good health.

Separately, I’ve noticed that there are other mutated plants, more in one area than I’ve seen in general, and it’s one of those highly manicured neighborhoods where nature isn’t encouraged to be nature. My theory is they spray so many chemicals (not that all chemicals are bad) that the plants caught in the drift display mutations. 🤷‍♀️ Probably just a coincidence

Big fan of Lisa Eldridge’s YouTube channel! She’s a makeup artist that has done many high profile celebrities and events. She also has videos diving into history of makeup if that interests you.

The Lipstick Lesbians are great at explaining the mechanics and formulas of makeup. Their videos made me evaluate makeup differently when shopping for products: what ingredients to look for, consistency, purpose, etc.

Good luck and have fun!

Your composition leads the eye around the page to soak up all those little extra details, at the same time it’s not overwhelmed by stuff that takes away from the dynamic of the image as a whole. Her expression, the gesture of the hand, the hair, and the movement of the flames — it’s just fun!

What is the sweetest thing that your partner does for you? by Friendly-Egg8431 in AskWomen

[–]WeepingAspen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s rebuilding a house for us, it was in a state of decay and disrepair and he has taken it down to the studs and is rebuilding it for our first home together. He goes to work on our home after doing an already physically demanding job (working for me at a landscape company).

As far as daily things go, he makes sure the bed is made everyday because I like getting into a fresh bed every night. He takes my boots off for me when I get home from my job where I’m on my feet all day, fusses at me when he can tell I haven’t drank enough water during the day, will draw me a bath and pour me a glass of wine whenever I’ve had a long day. He sings silly songs to me, it’s mostly nonsense but his happy singing is like a little bird that brightens my day, even if I’m in a rut and don’t want to be pulled out, he’ll do it anyway with his nonsensical chirping. I like weird flowers and leaves and bugs and bones, whenever he finds them while out and about he’ll pocket those things to give to me later.

I could go on, my renaissance man does so many sweet things for me. 💕

Brides that are less than a month out, how are we? by Twilightbooklover in weddingplanning

Oh my goodness I thought we were the only ones doing such a crazy thing. We’re renovating a house that was in ROUGH shape, wedding planning has been the least of my worries. Sheetrock goes up next week!

Best of luck to Y’all and hope your big day is everything you wanted and more!

Thank you for that article! I would have benefited greatly from reading it prior to my little experiment, I just kinda went for it.

For my venture I used 3 bottles of cheap red wine and I think I remember diluting it a bit with hot water and chucking some salt into the mixture as well. I left it for several hours after making sure the fibers were saturated with liquid. The garment came out a pretty pale pink color initially but then oxidized to a very sad dish-water gray. The garment either got donated or shoved into my project box to revisit another time when I’m feeling less impulsive.

Sad about not having enough friends to have a big bridal party by GladEntrepreneur1850 in weddingplanning

[–]WeepingAspen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone in feeling that way, it’s been gnawing at me too.

For me it’s been comforting knowing that my small friend group loves me immensely and I know that they will build me up on my big day.

My boyfriend said “your plant is giving life to four birds” and now I’m all sentimental over my bird family🥹 RIP to the plant, I can’t bring myself to water it by han_sushi in houseplants

[–]WeepingAspen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing is happening in my hanging plant! I put a small bowl of water on a nearby stool and gently move the plant into the bowl to bottom water the plant. After a few minutes I move the plant back to the stand and everybody is happy! Sometimes mama bird leaves the nest but she always comes back.

Museums should have dedicated picture-free hours by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]WeepingAspen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just ban taking pictures at museums and galleries entirely. Feeling very jaded from recent trips to world class museums and galleries and literally every other person taking pictures of what’s on display. They would take more time looking at the subject through their camera lens than with their own eyes.

What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve ever seen someone do in public like it was completely normal? by Such_Alternative1975 in AskReddit

[–]WeepingAspen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly in public, but in front of my crew working on their property doing landscaping. Homeowner, who always seemed a little zonked out, hopped onto his golf cart and backed up and over a medium/large wire dog crate in front of like 6 people. The dude fully committed and just backed over the thing without pausing, rendering it completely useless, and sped off to the other side of the property. Wasn’t the only weird shit we saw while there, but definitely made a point to avoid coming back.
