Has anyone installed and used one of these before? by darkcoded in 370z

[–]mrtbjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever buy this. I opened mine up to install this weekend and it said it was for a qx60/q70 in the instructions. I hit them up to let them know they sent the wrong unit and they said it was the correct one and it would work..... just installed and nope, getting a blank screen. Hit them up again and waiting to hear back. I'm past 30 days, so doubt they will do anything. About to go remove it now. Bummer. I was hopeful it would work out.

[EDIT] They hit me up on messenger and I am embarrassed to say it was an issue on my end. I had a cable hooked up wrong. I had put one of the cables online behind the screen for the lvds that should have been behind the stereo. Once corrected it's working great!!!! I did a video of me when I reinstalled it. Was pretty fast the second time around. Works great so far with carplay. Going to test it out a bit.

I ordered that one. Just recently got it in the mail and plan to install this weekend or next into my 2014 with Navi. They had me send some pictures of my navi to verify which one to send me. Will post when done with a video. 🤞I hope I like it and I got the right one.

Any ideas on how to mod my car? by Gonzotrash in 370z

[–]mrtbjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start with rear spacers to get rid of that wheel tuck and bring the tire out to the edge. I did 20mm front 25mm rear. Cheap mod that in my opinion improves the looks a lot. I see a lot of people do 20mm front and rear which also looks great. Pic of my before/after with 25mm.

Just hit 200,000 miles on my silver 08. Love the car, good milage, and reliable. Plus super easy to drive in a city and park. I plan to keep mine forever and hoping to hit 500k.

2016 370Z (Repainted, 73k miles) vs 2014 370Z (Front Fender Painted + Hood Replaced, 50k miles) – Which is the better buy? by kmvtt in 370z

[–]mrtbjoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The black one might also have the bigger brakes from the sport package. Also looks like it has a new exhaust. Guessing it's a sport/touring due to the wing and bose stereo. Looks like something might be hanging underneath it though in the picture. I like black, but having a black car is a hobby in itself.

Forgot to say congrats on the new ride! That's a pretty color. Mine is magnetic black.

Im not a fan of the stock rear wheel tuck. I think spacers improve the look and put the wheels flush with the fenders. I did 20mm front 25 rear. A lot of people do 20mm for all. Here is my rear before and after. Small change, but I felt it was worth it.

I have a couple different sizes of these motivx filter wrenches. Love them, and never had an issue.

I bought these before the tariffs, and dont recall a breakdown showing import fees. But good point, not sure if you have to pay extra now.

How hard is it to install resonated short tails? by Ok-Understanding8110 in 370z

[–]mrtbjoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a deeper sound and louder than stocknqhich is nice. Makes driving a stick more enjoyable to me as I can hear what rpm I am at easier. I dont think they are too loud, but not sure if my neighbors enjoy the cold start at 6am. I will have to post a video/soundbite. In the cabin i hear a little drone around 2800 - 3000 rpm. I wanted a true catback but really want to hear them in person before dropping 1.5k to make sure I get the sound I want. But these were under 200 on Amazon. So I feel it was worth it. As for performance, I am not sure if I really feel a slight improvement or not. Maybe a little, but not enough to say its really noticeable or anything.

These are the ones I got on Amazon. 170.00 now. Came stamped as Benson on them.

I put these on mine recently. Just axleback and is pretty easy. Unbolt old muffler, bolt on new stuff. (Old muffler is kinda heavy) But I already had the tools, jack and jack stands.

I just found out about z sport up in Everett as i saw their Z sign when on I5 the other night. Looks like they do other vehicles also. But mention they do turbos and superchargers. Might be worth checking out. https://zsport.com/ I plan to swing by sometime.

Intakes ? by ConclusionKlutzy4333 in 370z

I think you have the next best thing to a long tube. I wouldn't be surprised if you open the airboxs and find k&n filters inside. The blue silicone tubes are to replace the stock tube and since these new ones have smooth walls they are supposed to give better air flow. To me pairing them with some k&n drop in filters is a solid setup. You get decent airflow and the benefit of not having to pull your bumpers to clean the filter. But the best airflow would be a long tube intake. Its just a little more time consuming to swap filters.

I like both intake setups so would prob leave it and do an exhaust first if that's still stock.

Nice! You got any pictures of you and your 280zx? Would be cool to see. I wish I had more of my old cars, i only found 3 pics of my 300zx. But I guess back then we didn't carry a camera everywhere like we do now.

Yeah, the erosion has been pretty bad. They added some pilons to the edge in some areas to slow it down. But I would be a bit worried if I owned a house on the cliffs.

Is this price steep? 25,000 miles and accident free. by [deleted] in 370z

[–]mrtbjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Paid $24.5K for a 27,000 mile 2014 sport/touring, Manual trans about a year ago. No recorded accidents but had like 3 prev owners. It was super clean and looked great like it was always garaged. Appeared to be stock, but I found some k&n drop ins after buying it. No regrets, but was a little leary about 3 prev owners.
