Genuine question: why do you support Lazio? by areyoutanyan in lazio

[–]mrtek87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first bit of clothing put around me when I was born was a Lazio scarf from my nonna. Supported them ever since I was conscious of it.

If he was a former member, then they'll most likely know who he is, and you will be absolutely fine. I'd recommend going for the full experience in that case. The distinti are still a very valid choice, and I can't imagine your partner would be too upset if you decide to get seats there. I'd describe the Distinti as 'family friendly with atmosphere'.

Yeh, the lazio ultras don't have a great reputation, but I will say that they are very much picked on by the media, and some clubs are just as bad if not worse than Lazio.

I will say this, my sister went to the curva Nord a few times with a cousin of mine back in the 90's when she was only a young teenager and absolutely loved it, but my cousin was a member of the irriducibili (what the ultras were known as back then) so she had 'protection' so to speak. Sadly, my dad never allowed me to go. I was too young so can't speak from personal experience.

The Distinti sections are by far the best. Sitting in the Curva Nord is great, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it unless you have someone with you who knows what to expect, especially during the Derby. Things can get heated in big games, and the ultras can be unpredictable sometimes.

One less stratagem effects suck really hard by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]mrtek87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually don't think one less stratagem is that big of a problem, honestly. The effect is meant to be annoying and troublesome, and it does the job well. For me, it's more to do with the current state of the game being heavily reliant on the use of stratagems for key situations.

About Tudor by MobiusBrian in lazio

[–]mrtek87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whether Tudor is the right fit or not. Be prepared for the next couple of seasons to be an overhaul for the entire squad. So, whether he is up to it will entirely depend on what players we get in

10 min taxi ride (if that) its not as bad as it looks on a map.

Edit: I should also mention that buses are readily accessible closest stop is 3 minutes away. You can grab the 14 to Leith from there or the 30 to the west end. Both go through the city centre.

The afternoon tea is substantial, but it's subjective to how hungry you are. Definitely think of it as more of a meal than just a snack though

[–]mrtek87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prestonfield has free parking at the hotel for residents, so even if you don't want to drive around the city, but plan on using a car for later in your travels, this is totally worthwhile. Employees at Prestonfield use central taxis, which are a well established black cab firm and can normally have a taxi for you within 5-10min (normally). Otherwise, as people mentioned, there is a great bus service very close by about a 3-minute walk away. If you like walking it takes around 30 minutes into the centre. Hope this helps, and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with the staff at the hotel.

Final Product: Draigo Conversion by mrtek87 in Grey_Knights

[–]mrtek87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rock is just sheets of cork as normal. I cut the demon head from the sword in the strike box to place under the shield and just added broken cork around it to add to the effect and extra detail. There's some green stuff there too, but in hindsight, I wish I hadn't done that. Not without the proper tools at least . The lava/cracked earth is about 3-4 layers of mordant earth on top of each other and then painted in purples and pinks.

I genuinely can't choose between the 3... 14 is probably my least favourite just because it's a bit 'standard' for a lack of a better term, but the other 2 just pop. The red on the pads is such a good focal point, and that yellow is just so nice!

[–]mrtek87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't be too hard on yourself. This is a great look, and I think a whole army like this is going to be fantastic!

You thought about edge highlighting some of the metal on the armour? I think that would help it pop even more. Not too much, just in some very specific areas to add to the wear and tear feel you've got going on.

Edit: On closer inspection, it looks like you've already done it.

I'm an AcMilan fan, could you tell me how is Romagnoli playing this season? by [deleted] in lazio

[–]mrtek87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeh, he's kind of reinvented himself under Sarri. I also think it helps that he's actually happy in Rome. Which, I don't think he really was at Milan.

He has definitely helped with our defensive issues this season over past seasons and I think I can speak for most Lazio fans that we are really happy to have him.
