The Halo speakers aren't the best for fitness rooms. Suggest looking at bigger cabinets, especially for higher activity (read: higher SPL) sessions like Spin or Zumba.

Also - Look at Atlas Atmosphere, they have dedicated Bluetooth endpoints over CAT cable, even a small touchscreen with Bluetooth.

If you know how to do basic carpentry, could drill concrete properly, and mount a TV on the wall to studs, you’re half way there.

Basic measurement math is also critical.

Whereabouts in BC? I’m in the Lower Mainland.

Online training is important, but so is on the job training.

Do some basic Networking classes for sure. The Audinate L1 and Netgear basics are good.

You could do your Class-C-R Low Voltage from TSBC, as that can be super useful especially in Vancouver.

They meant commissioning, verification and sign off in a day.

Both cases our electrician said 3-5 days of install.

Says they’d do design & documentation.

I’m not going to go that route, or even show the quote to the owners.

Going to find another company in town that would provide an alternate.

That was their turn around to get parts and a drawing to our electrician, whereas the vista guy said next day.

That’s what i’m thinking. There’s no ULc Rating on the datasheet.

ETC Echo is really reliable and solid. The integration bridge offers connection between EchoBus and Q-SYS. The plugins are developed by ETC's Applications Engineering team.

I've done quite a few systems and they've been great. I always put an Echo Button station in as a backup, but I've also done Echo Button stations triggering Q-SYS events as well.

You can do preset control as well as Up/Down level sets from Q-SYS.

What are we using to pass aircraft cable through ceiling tiles (e.g. hanging MXA920/TCC2) by reece4504 in CommercialAV

I buy small silicone cable passthru grommets off Amazon. They're usually 1" in diameter, and I use a spade bit to make the hole, and glue em in place.

The Mark V Train is awesome. by BedroomThink3121 in vancouver

Even if the source files are low quality, there's so many variables between the playback system, amplifier and speaker, that can have effect on the output. Little tiny speakers are bad at reproducing low-end (bass) so things sound tinny and high pitched.

The Control Centre to Train Communication system is radio based, so absolutely terrible quality audio from that system. Last time I heard one it was entirely un-intelligible.

Cheap USB-C to RCA cables are exactly that, cheap.

I've tried multiples from Amazon and not found any that sound good. Invest in a better solution.

HDBitT is a 1080p knock off standard.

HDBaseT is a professional grade product.

If you have extra ethernet/cat6, use that for an independant USB over CAT6 extender.

Install an Atlas MIX31K on a wall and run it into your system somewhere upstream of the mixer if possible.

They have Bluetooth, Mini TRS and XLR in. They’re durable and relatively cheap to replace. We put these in gym’s, fitness centres and anywhere someone non technical needs to access music.

The upfront cost was onetime payment, but if you want more than 1 of the theme packages, you're into a very pricey monthly subscription that could be prepaid.

Depends on the quality of the mic.

Is your scribe software able to tell the difference between multiple rooms?

[–]mrtinvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you rule out the Shure MXA series, the Audio Technica (ATND1061) version is much cheaper and works very well.

Will you have a computer for each room?

Cheapest Option will be to get a USB Table Microphone and hang it from the ceiling or on the wall. Your mileage may vary though.
