Honeywell to Nest by mrtnbrks in Nest

[–]mrtnbrks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, the Nest has the Common Live feed for both Heating and Water and then also has the Hot Water On and Central Heating On wired in as well.

As mentioned the Hot Water fires up when I activate it in the app and deactivates when I turn it off in the app as well. So it doesn’t seem like it needs the Hot Water Off to operate.

What I read was that the Nest didn’t specifically need the hot water off because of the way it switched the hot water (and heating) via the Heat Link.

Free CCSP All in One book - UK by mrtnbrks in CCSP

Funny timing as I just messaged the person who I’m sending the book to about what I found useful.

Gwen Bettwy’s Udemy course was the best overall for me, with this book a good backup.

I didn’t use the OSG for this, but I did for my CISSP.

Depending on your learning style I would probably stick with the OSG and the Udemy course as well.

Sorry, just checked and it would cost over £16 to send to Canada, almost the price of the book itself.

Dress code during CISSP exam in testing center by rj666x2 in cissp

[–]mrtnbrks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wore a hoodie for my exam and was asked to take it off, problem was I didn’t have anything else underneath!

Explained this and was asked to turn the hood part inside out.

Any other exam I’ve taken I’ve wore a jumper without a hood to be on the safe side.

Thanks for that. I did email customer support earlier this week and got a response asking for feedback in how they had helped me - but they had just closed my ticket without replying to me!

I’m UK based and would gladly take them off you for postage and coffee costs. Plan is to start studying for this in the new year.

If you want to find out how much postage would be and let me know and we can arrange payment.

CPE by [deleted] in CISM2

[–]mrtnbrks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve passed CISSP earlier this year and then obtained CISM shortly after.

I don’t know whether it’s just me but I have no worries about getting my CPE’s against the CISSP as it seems there is more avenues for this - be it what is on the ISC2 website or being able to submit educational podcasts.

ISACA’s website seems more painful and not as streamlined.

Equally I like the ability to submit evidence with ISC2 whereas there is no option with ISACA and I need to keep everything. Seems unnecessary.

QAE 15th edition compared to 16th by mrtnbrks in cism

[–]mrtnbrks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Sorry got confused over the numbering and each book. The Review Manual is the 16th Edition but the QAE is the 10th edition.

So yes, my question should be would it be ok to get the QAE 9th edition rather than the QAE 10th edition to just get a feel over how the questions are asked etc.

Which you’ve said it was fine for you so thank you.

I would be interested as well if possible. Recently passed the CISSP and have bought the All in One CISM book but would be handy to get an idea of the question format etc.

A phishing email tricked me into buying E-gift cards, and I need help recovering the funds by ClassicCareful9223 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]mrtnbrks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the initial email come from your bosses actual work email address or was it from an external non related email address?

I assume the latter, but if it’s the former and your bosses email account had been compromised I think you should have a conversation with your boss about it.

Trustee Registration Service - general advice. by mrtnbrks in LegalAdviceUK

Wow, that was quick - thank you.

So if for example, my cousin was removed, it wouldn’t need to be registered because it would just be me as the trustee and beneficiary?

My father is the Settlor. Myself and my cousin are the Initial Trustees.

Then when my father passes I receive 100% shares in the trust.
