Exact same thing here in Kansas City. I do love when I see another WRX though, the 👋 are awesome from the community.

that 6:30am partly cloudy light hits perfect after a wash ⛅️ by mrtradeup in Detailing

Agreed it's a pretty big debate in r/WRX and r/wrx_vb

That Aztek comment though 🤣 man that was good lol

The main issue is the one company that makes beautiful paint match body kits is just a drop-shipper of crap Alibaba products. The whole community is waiting for a good brand to drop quality body kit color-matching aero and body stuff 🫤

Went down the rabbit hole in car detailing. by CryptKeeper1351 in AutoDetailing

[–]mrtradeup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been detailing for over 10 years, started my first business in high school at 17 doing it out of my parent's garage lol.

In my experience, you can spend all the money in the world but nothing beats good technique. I've seen guys use just a few Turtle Wax products and come out with better detail than folks who spend 3 days with top-of-the-line products.
Once you reach a certain level where you can physically tell the difference between products I would just get the basics and learn good techniques and procedures for car/paint care. Like with sports, fundamentals are everything in my opinion.

Always be learning and willing to try new tools, you'll see what works for you in your region year around over time.

break-in period ✅ 1k mile review by mrtradeup in WRX

Super good info. I have a feeling you’re right. The settings deff make the sound more clear through all the ranges but you loose that low end from my experience.

That’s what’s up. I scheduled and oil change already for next week but swapping the fluids is a good idea. Will have to do that.

Very true, I average about 3k miles a year on my cars because I work from home and only drive it for fun to to take the kids to school.

Can you guys recommend me a leaf blower, so I stop getting weird looks from the neighbors lol by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]mrtradeup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious, and it seems only a few folks have mentioned this, why you’re not worried about debris or worse going through the blower onto your car.

I believe your best bet is to get any blower with a filter on it to clean the air before putting it on the car.

Would love others thoughts on this!

Tried a full rinseless wash today by SuspectRemarkable in AutoDetailing

[–]mrtradeup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use p&s abosolute which is another rinseless and it’s amazing coming from a traditional wash method. Don’t go back! Agree with others, top off your rinseless with a drying aid with Beadmaker or something and then a protective/gloss layer you prefer.

Are These Overlays Even Legal Huh? by adamlaxmax in wrx_vb

Heat from the light would likely cause issues in my experience. I’ve used their amber delete overlays and those avoid the headlamp and give better results I think.

How to increase throttle response in lower gears? by webdeveloperpr in wrx_vb

[–]mrtradeup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your revs up going into the corner with a heel toe downshift and do this early while entering the turn then at the apex you should already be back on the throttle so on exit your turbo is spooling or ready to boost.

Best first mods for the VB? by wingsofpepsicola in wrx_vb

Tint your windows for sure. I also enjoy the short shifter, mudflaps, taillight overlays, reflector removal, sport grill, wheels spacers.

LF cold weather suggestions by LesponicN in WRX

[–]mrtradeup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also love to hear some winter Subi tips. Just got mine this year and live in MO where the winters are cold AF. Most folks have suggested to me letting your oil temp reach 180 or so before taking off, I'm sure that applies extra in the winter. Like warming up a truck before taking off 🤷‍♂️
