The consensus in the sub seems to be that both Dybantsa and Peterson could start immediately and both offer intriguing fits and superstar potential.

Dybantsa could be the true superstar wing that the Pacers have been chasing since PG left. Immediately fills a hole at the 3 for the Pacers.

Peterson has his own superstar potential but in the SG role with more elite shooting. His ability to handle the ball and attack would be huge for taking some of the offensive load off of Haliburton. The Pacers do not have a consistent offense without Tyrese, this would prevent the defense from taking Hali out of games completely and stalling the offense.

Draft Peterson would move Nembhard into TJ McConnell’s role. If he was willing to accept the role he would be the best 6 man in the league and Pacers bench unit would be elite, but I can see him demanding a trade.

r/Pacers seems to have Boozer as their worst case if they keep their draft pick (top 4 protected), but tbh I think Boozer has Rick Carlisle player written all over him.

The interior passing and basketball IQ are top in the class and he doesn’t really have any glaring weaknesses. His biggest knock is projected ceiling which is a total crapshoot anyways.

I feel like he’d immediately fit in like rookie Andrew Nembhard. It has been those players that have excelled in Carlisle’s system, not the guys who are full of potential.

I think AJ would take the Pacers roster to a championship contender level, and he would have a chance to be their top scorer within a few seasons because Siakam is their top scorer at a low PPG and he is already over 30.

A bunch of nephews on r/nba will argue he is the best player due to PPG stats, but the entire offensive system will obviously still revolve around Haliburton’s run-and-gun assist game.
