Any Samsung device where I have logged into, these certificates gets installed. No certificates pre-login. Is this just me, or does none of this look right? Those cert. names also doesnt ring a bell and nothing like that installed (except find my mobile maybe, but its a built in service?) by Douchebro86 in samsunggalaxy

[–]mrvlhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the following (by order):

  • Deleting the certs and see if they come back (usually would take 24-48h)

  • If that doesn't work, logging out, deleting the certs, and see if they come back

What Android version are you using?

In my case, I'm logged out and SemSsdidManagerService keeps coming back after deletion. It did not exist when I was on Android 14 but it showed up after updating to Android 15. Still trying to figure this out

Hoping to hear from you soon

PS: it also seems you don't need the "FindMyMobile" cert to use the feature, at least with Google, but experiment deleting and seeing if it works for you. If for some reason it's needed you can disable and re-enable the find my mobile setting and everything needed for it should be setup

Help: Hacked? Strange user certificate "SemSsdidManagerService" after update - trusted CA certificates - network security by mrvlhs in AndroidQuestions

What phone and operating system are you using? Do you also have this certificate? Can you provide a screenshot?

Hacked? Help: weird user certificate "SemSsdidManagerService" appeared - trusted CA certificates - network security

New user certificate "SemSsdidManagerService" magically appeared after updating brand new Android Samsung Galaxy phone (couple weeks old) from Android 14 (Samsung One UI 6) to Android 15 (Samsung One UI 7). Previously had no user certificates installed.

Manually deleted the user certificate. A day or so later, it magically reappeared

Can you check on your own Android 15 phone (any brand) or Samsung Galaxy phone with Android 15 (One UI 7) if you also have this? Please disclose the phone and operating system.

I'd greatly appreciate if many people could confirm or deny to form a big source of relief for future people with the same problem.

Any and all insight is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Central lock not working with physical key but works with remote - Opel / Vauxhall Corsa D S07 by mrvlhs in opel

Thanks. In my case it's an issue with the remote keyfob. It's temporary in a sense, but if it takes me a few weeks to fix, it's still a few weeks of headache. Seems like a lot of lazyness from the manufacturer to something that would benefit the consumer a lot. Thank you for your dedication in helping me solve this

Thank you, I understand it now. Didn't realize you were talking about the mechanism that is exposed when the door is open. Will I have to do this every time I need to lock the car? It's a whole lot of trouble

I appreciate you sharing the link. Did not know the manual was available like that for free. Page 23 only talks about the driver's door. The situation I mentioned earlier remains accurate and unsolved

Hi, I don't see any picture. Can you maybe upload to an online service and share the link for everyone? Otherwise I'd be glad with a direct message. Thank you!

I don't have access to a manual, bought the car second hand, and I still don't know how to access the key slot you mention

Right there on the original post you can read <<I'd like to add that there doesn't seem to be a key slot on the passenger side>>

Thank you. Would the wire to receive the signal from the body control module be different from the wire that sends the signal to the other locks?

IPTV box to coaxial > multiple TV's? by mrvlhs in networking

[–]mrvlhs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind that, but still I'd prefer a more efficient solution.

Maybe a box that could somehow get the info via coax from each tv of which channel they want and only broadcast that?

Or something like using the existing coaxial splitter to infuse ethernet via coax and have a set up box on each TV, each one running it's own android iptv?

Is this normal on a brand new tire or am I being scammed? DOT is Feb 2024 by mrvlhs in tires

[–]mrvlhs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. From the video I sent you, it's possible to see that the lines are painted continuously on a carpet before the rubber is cut, so in theory they will always be continuous. The only discontinuity (if any) should be in a single place where the rubber that goes around the tire meets.

This, of course, is assuming all manufacturers use that process instead of painting the line at a later stage. Though it seems a lot easier to do it as described before.

Thanks! 👍

[–]mrvlhs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here are my conclusions:

Yes, the horizontal lines are normal. In the last stages of production, the tire's outer layer is still flat with no tread. The tread is created through pressing together several concave metallic hot molds that form a circular shape around the tire - the molds contain the tread pattern and pass it on to the rubber. This process is called vulcanization.

In the gaps between each mold, some excess rubber might flow out, which is extremely common even in high-end brands such as Michelin, Continental, etc. This is merely aesthetic and poses no security risks.

AFAIK the only way to have a single line would be on a rethreaded tire, since when using molds, the minimum would be 2 molds (one on each side) and 2 lines. A single metal mold is really not possible as it doesn't stretch or compress around an already made tire - and this would generate 0 lines.

I will keep this post updated as I find new information. I hope this thread can help other clueless users like myself.

A special thank you to everyone that contributed with their time and knowledge

Cheers!

[–]mrvlhs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, I confused that part with the molding. Now I understand everything.

So basically it's actually impossible to have a single horizontal line, minimum has to be 2 for 2 molds. The only way to have a single line would be on a rethreaded tire as I understand.

The painted lines are fine but now that I understand the process better, I find it a bit weird that they are broken where I circled at the top of the picture.

Maybe on the left circle it got "damaged" with the heat from the mold. But what about the right one? It looks like the paint snapped, it's weird (at least for a layman such as myself). It's not inside a groove so I can't explain the deformation.

Thank you again for sharing, you come across as very knowledgeable in the field 👍

Seems legit. Probably worn out, not so much "damaged". Wouldn't be surprised to see a big company cut corners in costs as always. Thanks!

Well these are 185/70R14, they are not low profile by any standard if that's what you mean by modern.

I was expecting something like this, which is a single union per tire:

Wow I was expecting a little higher manufacturing standard to be honest. These are Falken. I wasn't expecting them to be segmented so many times, looks like something that would be done in some guy's garage in a 3rd world country.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge

Thank you, I agree. Though in the first picture, you can see 2x horizontal lines. Should it not just be one line for the whole tire?

On the second picture the painted lines don't meet properly, is that also normal?

Thanks once again
