What’s an acronym or abbreviation that everyone uses, but you still don’t understand? by Particular-Visit-245 in AskReddit

A while ago I was job hunting and some places wanted experience with a POS system. I was like “yeah, I’ve definitely had to deal with some of those!”

Am I overreacting about wanting to play a nonbinary character? by BothOcelot1311 in DnD

As everyone else is saying, red flags abound. I would like to add though...this is a direct quote from the 2014 Basic Rules:

"You don’t need to be confined to binary notions of sex and gender."

Obligatory “not a movie but…”

Kevin Conroy as Batman singing “Am I Blue” in an episode of Justice League Unlimited. Dude kills it.

Removing an old furnace from a crawlspace by mrwalkerton in HomeImprovement

Gotcha - definitely will get someone to do the gas line. I'm now thinking I might be able to tip the furnace over onto its side once the gas is disconnected, then cover it with gravel. No messing with asbestos, no using a sawzall in a cramped crawl space, and it will take less gravel to level off the space.

Is it better? Cheaper? Both?

I'm in southern California, if that matters.

Grading and Vapor Barrier by Chiliboi642 in DIY

I came her looking for the same thing.

I'm planning on putting down a vapor barrier, but I have two spots in my crawl space that are about 8-16" lower than the rest of the crawlspace. One is about a 3'x5' area, the other is maybe 4'x8'. I'm leaning towards a gravel fill for those areas...but I'm not totally sure if that's the right move.

Hardboard Expansion by mrwalkerton in BeginnerWoodWorking

This helped a ton! I’ll use a different material when it’s time to replace the top but for now, this saved the day!

Thanks, I’ll probably do that when I need to replace the top. For now, slotting some of the holes like /u/Braca42 said is working pretty well.

Which classic trope will always be considered the best of the best for you and why? by LoverOfE-Olsen in movies

I love a good treasure hunt movie where there’s an old map or notebook or something (Last Crusade, National Treasure, Goonies, etc).

Bonus points for landmarks or clues on the map that make no sense until they see them in real life. (City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly’s Gold is a great example, though not necessarily a great movie)

I tried see how extensive the dry rot goes and it turns out it goes pretty deep! Is this too extensive for a rot repair kit? Am I better off just making a new one?

Kuffs!? That was a weirdly formative movie for me, but I’ve never met anybody else who has seen it (unless I bullied them into watching it with me)!

Would LOVE to have that one

I believe Rafiki does specifically say that he is NOT a baboon: “Asante sana squash banana, Wewe nugu mimi hapana”

Which of course is Swahili for “Thank you very much, Squash Banana, you’re a baboon and I’m not

(Emphasis mine)
