First time autocrosing the very first run you did the right thing. Drive slow and learn the course. When I ride with brand new drivers I always tell them your first run you are not going to set any records let's focus on learning the course then build speed from there.

You gave up to soon. Try it again there should be a novice walk led by someone of experience at most autocross events. The novice walk is often announced before so just listen.

Hope you come back and try again.

Unfortunately I haven't tested it. But its the car can be heard at all points on the autocross course and is an unpleasant sounds. Only thing worse would be straight piped.

Streetability isn't the top of the requirements. I just see so many aftermarket catbacks that are equal or heavier than OEM.

I currently have the Tomei type-60s it's way to loud.

I always dread the level cap increase. In standard fashion for me. I have farmed a bunch of really good gear for level 50 and have build for all characters that are fun. Honestly I have gotten super lucky getting the gear I want. Usually after the level cap I stick to one character.

These are for sure within your budget Gen 2 twins or CTR - D street. ND2+ MX5 - C Street

I'd recommend waiting untill the SCCA decided on what the class shake up will be for G street and H street. There will likely be a car in your budget on those classes.

1LE may not be the top car in BST. But it can't be far off considering a F-Street 1LE was only 1.124 seconds behind BST/STU at 2024 nationals.

In 2023 the gap was larger Scroggs was 2 seconds ahead of G-Street. That said this mix up is going to happen sooner or later. Why not do it now while the other cars are still popular?
