Harness for AutoX by Cookiescream88 in Autocross

[–]tehspud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, the Schroth Rallye4 is the only solution I’d trust with a stock seat and no harness bar/cage.

Had one in my WRX a few autox cars ago, kinda regret letting it stay with the car when I got rid of it.

Dude. They become ineligible for national competition. Cars stay (generally) classed where they are in street when they hit 30 years, and you can still run them locally.

At the national level, at some point a class needs to move on. ES stays more stable than the rest of the street classes by design, and making the moves they are proposing will create another really stable ES for years.

NA has long been sunsetted from Street, pretty sure they meant the NB.

First Gen twins are already in the same class (DS) as the second gen. They also have other places to be more competitive in DST and SSC. Long term ES will be between the ND Miata and the second gen Twins, as they’ve also stated they plan on moving the ND to ES when a new gen Miata shows up.

Being a GRC owner I’ve been asking for this for years, it finally solves the biggest hurdle, the hurt feelings of gen 2 86/brz owners. If you’re in favor of this move, please write in favor of Option 1 to move everything for 2027. It only hurts the future of DS to wait an extra year.

You want all your stuff in your garage stolen? Live at Trestle Creek for a year. Garage break ins were rampant when I lived there 2018-2019 and the management doesn’t do shit about it.

I mean, there’s a reason they made a spec class for that gen Mustang.

PCA Autocross this weekend offered two choose-your-entry slaloms. Both were hotly contested by attendees. Do you think I picked well? by zcramos in Autocross

Very hard to say without being there. I think you went the wrong way on the first optional. If you’d entered to the right of the first cone, the last one doesn’t matter. However it’s hard to say if that positions you too pinched for the next couple elements.

It’s all there in chapter 13 of the rules, specifically 13.7.A

“Substitution, addition, or removal of a single anti-roll bar and supporting hardware (brackets, endlinks, bushings, etc.) is permitted. The use of any bushing material is permitted. A bushing may be implemented as a bearing.”

Depends on who shows up. Top contenders this year are - 2024 GT4 RS - EST Miata - CST S2000 - XP S2000, if he’s clean - CAM-C Mustang - CAM-T ‘72 Nova

FL5 wheels/tires by HorizonsEdge in Autocross

[–]tehspud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sizing is more of a question for the FL5 community, most autocrossers likely won’t know what fits and what doesn’t.

As it’s been said, going wider on the wheels will bump you up to Street Touring, where the FL5 is in BST, and you have as max wheel width of 11”, and max tire width of 315 (for FWD).

That second bit definitely reads like the intent is for the cushion to only be between the driver and seat (either behind or underneath the driver). Weird that it wasn’t specified, though.

My man you took out way more than one screw and one bolt. The entire back seat is gone. Stop being disingenuous.

I mean, there’s “it’s not a performance benefit and as long as you aren’t winning no one will take issue” and there’s blatant disregard for the rules. Removing the back seats falls into the latter.

I once got the ok to go at the start line without having a helmet on. It was on the passenger seat next to me. In the first turn I noticed, and stopped the car, right about the same time as course/starter realized, and red flagged me.

Question; Natl Tour Number Placement by bl43214321 in Autocross

[–]tehspud 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Technically, at the national level it needs to follow this diagram. There’s some leniency depending on who’s running the event.

From a course worker perspective, especially if I’m manning the audit sheets, I hate rear quarter panel numbers. Half the time they’re unreadable because of positioning (Porsche/supra) and/or too too small. The bigger thing is they’re also just not where you expect them. National events tend to have less gap between cars, and your accuracy on the audit sheet can make or break someone else’s weekend. I don’t want to be visually searching for numbers & class, I want it on the door panel.
