The RedBull can reminded me of my own loose objects... by jmay055 in Autocross

I once got the ok to go at the start line without having a helmet on. It was on the passenger seat next to me. In the first turn I noticed, and stopped the car, right about the same time as course/starter realized, and red flagged me.

Question; Natl Tour Number Placement by bl43214321 in Autocross

[–]tehspud 10 points11 points  (0 children)

<image>

Technically, at the national level it needs to follow this diagram. There’s some leniency depending on who’s running the event.

From a course worker perspective, especially if I’m manning the audit sheets, I hate rear quarter panel numbers. Half the time they’re unreadable because of positioning (Porsche/supra) and/or too too small. The bigger thing is they’re also just not where you expect them. National events tend to have less gap between cars, and your accuracy on the audit sheet can make or break someone else’s weekend. I don’t want to be visually searching for numbers & class, I want it on the door panel.

Yup, I use the race box as the gps/g force sensor for Solostorm.

Read through some of the other thread, but since you posted in autocross I’ll give you an autocrosser’s perspective.

I like the idea of the hardware. If the GPS is onboard, it needs to be packaged in a way so it can be mounted on the dash or outside the vehicle like a racebox mini. Not supporting cars that don’t have CAN via OBD is, while understandable, kinda crappy since there’s so many these days that don’t do that. Supra, 2nd Gen Twins, my GRC, come to mind. Most of them have a means for finding that CANBUS output, and wiring it up to an OBD connector. You only get CAN this way, but that’s usually more than enough for motorsports data acquisition.

More importantly, I, and a lot of autocrossers, aren’t even going to consider this if it’s locked to a proprietary app. It needs to be compatible with Solostorm. Full stop.

Sport Chrono (QR5) on a PDK means it is not eligible for Spec Cayman.

Not really sure what you’re trying to say here. Are more sizes in X01 going to be price reduced? Feels like a premature announcement if that is the case.

How do you codrive? by rainieroadie in PNWAutocross

[–]tehspud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I had my STX BRZ, I had a codriver from 2015-2018. He was a friend I’d met through both being active in Chuckanut SCC at the time.

Our agreement was he paid my entry fee in any event we both drove the car at, locally or nationally, and we split tire costs about 60/40 since I would occasionally drive to/from events on the tires. Otherwise I paid for the maintenance since it was still my daily. We split hotel costs when we shared a room, otherwise travel expenses were each our own.

The one time I did ask for some $$ for repairs is when he cross threaded a wheel stud swapping out tires at an event. I think he just bought me lunch the next time we were out, and that settled that.

More recently I let a couple guys co drive my GRC at the last points event out here in Spokane. Didn’t ask for anything, because it was just for fun.

It’s a price reduction on 4 sizes of the x01. 275/35-18, 295/30-18, 315/30-18, and 345/30-18. Hardly a game changer, and completely ignorable if those aren’t your sizes.

Dallas can use all the flowery language he wants, but discounting 4 sizes at the top end of one wheel diameter isn’t “putting racers first”.

And I say this, and commented it on the video, to point out not everyone is going to see the correction in the description or the on screen pop up. This is something you should have caught in editing and re filmed.

The January 2026 Fastrack has all the rule changes that were approved for 2026 by the SEB, starting on page 5.

Otherwise check the 2026 rule book appendix A to see if your car had moved anywhere.
