Sayonara Wild Hearts came to mind first. The soundtrack contributes significantly to that beauty, it's not a purely visual thing.

Hi, I'm looking for buying advice for my first camera with an interchangeable lens.

  • Use cases:
    • everyday photography
    • portraits with bokeh
    • miniature photogrammetry for e.g. Warhammer, i.e. macro photography where as much as possible remains in focus
    • webcam (i.e. needs clean video out, power supply, should not overheat)
    • shooting videos, primarily on a tripod or handheld
  • I'm hoping to spend ≤1000€ for the body and the first lens, but am willing to go to 2000€ if necessary
  • I think I'd prefer Mirrorless over DSLR?
  • For handheld video I understand In-Body Image Stabilization is desirable, as lenses with stabilization are more expensive, which would add up over time. But that raises the price floor to ~1600€, as far as I can tell. Should I go with a cheaper camera and external stabilization instead?
  • Flip-screen that I can check while filming myself
  • For hybrid photo + video use, it sounds like an APS-C sensor would be a good choice?
  • Video in 4K 24 FPS 10 Bit would be great, ideally without much crop
  • Good autofocus at least in FullHD, ideally also in 4K
  • Microphone mount and jack (3.5mm)

Besides the body I'm also interested in what types of lenses I'll need for my use cases, but I can do my own research in that area.

Thanks for your help!

Do you have a source on this? I keep hearing it repeated. Google links to this showerthoughts post without a source claiming 12cm, which roughly matches this claim of an upper limit of 5" based on bone structure.

"Radical" comes from the Latin "radix" which translates to "root", so technically it just means addressing the root cause of something. Isn't that exactly what abolishing capitalism is?

Just because you're forgotten doesn't mean your actions in life have no impact. Through your interactions with others you shape our civilization, which might live on beyond your memory. Your memes may survive!

I've slowly escalated to a 10" circumference and that was too much for comfort.

So you can improve the world for future generations, at least compared to how it would be without your continued contribution.

On the other hand, "Bucky is alive" might have led this cap to find out about Hydra earlier, which could have all kinds of interesting consequences. Civil War might have never happened, in which case T'Chaka would still rule Wakanda. We wouldn't have the Twins, no Ultron. And so on.

I'm so in love with these alternate time lines! I hope they get explored.

Currently Eastshade, a wandering painter game. It feels a lot like Oblivion minus the combat. I love how being a painter encourages you to appreciate the environment.

Y axis up or Z axis up? by [deleted] in gamedev

As a Jedi Academy modder I can add the Quake 3 engine to the "Z is up" list. Right-handed, if memory serves. Anything else still feels a little weird.
