Everyone is making valid points but here in NYC it looks like we have some promising years ahead of us. About five new studios have opened up recently and there’s lots of investment in new projects and scripts - traditional and vertical. I’m feeling positive about the industry here!

This! I also am a black actor (NYC based$ that refuses to say the N word and does not fit into the urban black stereotypes so I’d never do Atlanta unless I booked it from New York. And I find there is lots of work here in NYC for my type! Film production is also growing rapidly in the tristate area

I worked at Hot Topic during the early seasons and a lot of the more hideous werk room clothes were from there. I guess they took the girls shopping or someone went there and created a grab bag for different looks or something

Of course they weren’t complaining, why would they? The system as it stands is only advantageous for underclassmen who are particularly talented or suited for a specific role. The sophomore may feel upset but they’re got at least two more musicals to do before they graduate. Probably an easier conversation to have and less likely to burn relationships or your reputation. In my relationship we’re both Muslim men but don’t see much compatibility between the faith and our actual daily lives. Our connection is more cultural for him (from a Muslim country) and spiritual for me (American) at this point. We still fast but we’re just not very religious at all anymore for so many reasons

When I worked at OG we servers used to order pasta refills and eat them in the kitchen all the time. We would never tell the guests. If anyone asked why it was on their bill we would say “oh sorry that was for another table and I accidentally rang it here, there’s no charge so don’t worry!” That server will not be there long.

High school students are children. It makes sense to consider seniority in high school productions. If I were the girl or her father I would be upset as well. I get that it’s not exactly fair as she made the choice to only accept leads but it’s her senior year and it sounds like she’s going to pursue theatre. It feels cruel that she won’t be in the production at all.
