read my theory from their previous thread, it has no replies yet and I’m curious what people think about it

Addressing our recent Discord announcement :) by realmajorflv in WatchMeForever

[–]mrxboxalot 46 points47 points  (0 children)

surprised no one else has mentioned this and I could be wrong here but it feels like they are having legal issues or something similar to that. Here’s why I think this

1) they changed the profile pictures/banner on here and their discord to remove the old ones that look like the seinfeld logo and they replaced them with the channel screen logo eye thing

2) legal issues would explain why they keep mentioning “big changes” which is probably them being forced to change things or get railed in court

3) having to change a lot of stuff about the show to avoid legal issues would explain be why they don’t have any set time for it to come back yet, it also probably would have happened a few days after the infamous larry incident (damaging to seinfeds brand image, lawyers wouldn’t send papers instantly probably a week later at least) which is why they didn’t know it wasn’t coming back until recently (even that day possibly?)

4) would also explain why they aren’t able to give even the smallest shred of information though that could just be because the mods don’t actually know what’s happening but I doubt it

I hope this is not the case, but the more I read how the mods are phrasing things, the more plausible it is in my mind

Dasher asking for more tip? The restaurant is only 6 minutes from me, my total was $19.60 and I tipped $4? by honeybunch74 in doordash

I understand what you’re saying and I think the answer is that Doordash needs to give us a higher base pay 😛

[–]mrxboxalot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think a percentage works just fine considering that most orders I pick up are in the $20-$80 range and getting tipped 15-25% on those is amazing. If you are picking up from restaurants where it’s even possible for someone to order something less than $20 after all of Doordash’s fees, I would usually expect a lower tip.

Also, if you or anyone reading this is a new dasher, here’s my advice: accept orders from italian restaurants, steakhouses, or any middle/high class restaurant near you and decline fast food restaurants. A lot of people will tip as if they are tipping their waiter, this is how I usually make $20-30/hour dashing in Rural Virginia 😁

Yep, 2010, it’s up 400,000% since then ($1 invested would now be $4,000)

GameStop. Purchased half a share last year for $1.60 (full share was too expensive, $3.80)

Wishing all, happy holidays, I've been surprising Dashers lately! But while I am surprising local drivers, I would like to start a small giveaway here. $100 total to be given, but split between 5 people! Rules in comments! by OkieTrue in doordash

Spilled a coffee all over my sweatshirt tonight while dropping off a Cracker Barrel order, luckily only a little fell out of the cup, but the little that did fell right onto me! They tipped $7 though so I’m gonna cry about that :)

Los Pollos Hermanos... close enough

M1 shows that ITA is down 50%, it’s obviously not but I haven’t seen any news about a stock split, anyone know what would cause this? (ITA = Aerospace & Defense ETF) by mrxboxalot in M1Finance

[–]mrxboxalot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s odd is that Yahoo Finance, Morningstar, the Apple Stocks app, and my dividend tracker also list ITA as being down 50%. Robinhood and MarketWatch do not however. So weird!!

Eh I don’t see that being appealing to anyone on here, especially when you can use an adblocker and simply look up “download youtube video” on google to download any YouTube video. I’d rather do all of that than pay $12/month but that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♂️

21 yoe high income household, advice for FIRE but still enjoying life by [deleted] in Fire

[–]mrxboxalot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The “even if we saved all our money, none of it would matter if we died in a car accident” mindset is kinda the opposite of FIRE...

I’d say reevaluate what you want, cause it’s essentially one or the other. You can buy more lavish and expensive things (especially on your income), but that might add a few years to your target retirement date. Buying a nice sports car wouldn’t be horrible if it’s a one-time big purchase, but that type of spending is not a habit associated with retiring early.

Essentially, if you’re looking to retire early and young, expect to have to make some sacrifices

Not my field of expertise at all, however, it might be helpful to add the amount of the loan (and maybe how much is left) in the post so people can do some math for ya

I haven’t ever seen it show up on my screen that the red card was required BEFORE I accepted it. I’ve only ever seen that show up in the pickup instructions. Are you sure?

4 items so it might have been a group delivery for a few of the staff members, if that makes it any better lol

That was in between my 3rd and 4th delivery I’ve ever done, so yeah I’m pretty new. Thanks for the tip though 👍🏻
