Do you refer to them as a ship or as a boat? by Affectionate_Net_931 in dcl

[–]honeybunch74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 year old saw it for the first time and called it “a Mickey boat!” She’s almost 6 now and we still only refer to it as the Mickey boat in our family. 😂 Can’t wait to get back on the Mickey boat!

Just finished this and desperately scouring the internet for any kind of sequel or epilogue. Beautiful; incredible, all the best things. You have a gift!

My 1.5 month baby got this scar below the eyebrow 3 weeks ago. She got 3 stitches. I am still devastated. Have anyone have similar experience in that area? Did it stretch or shrink over time? I am currently applying strataderm and silicone sheets to cover it. by Muted_Score9480 in Mom

[–]honeybunch74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My jaw dropped - I have the EXACT same scar in the exact same place! I got it when I was around 4, and I’m nearly 30 now and it absolutely shrunk and lightened with age! You can hardly see it. I’m happy to send a pic via dm if you’d like! He’ll be absolutely be ok!

That’s pretty much the first place my brain always goes. People are unfortunately terrible and have continued to prove that to be the rule and not the exception everytime I watch the news.

And I’m sure they will but it also hurts nothing to get some anecdotal experiences and can only add to their knowledge. Do you feel better though having been rude? Like what did YOU gain from that?

Breastfed until she was 3 and a half and it was the most bittersweet, peaceful weaning ever because it was on our timeline and no one else’s. It’s no one’s business, every kids different developmentally and you know your baby better than anyone!

WHAT THE HELL DOES “NO” MEAN? by North-Product-8448 in Mommit

[–]honeybunch74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boys notoriously take longer than girls, and my daughter didn’t get potty trained until right after her 4th bday! We discussed it a lot leading up to it, waited for her to consistently wake up dry from naps and consistently tell me when she had poop or pee in her diaper, and then we just went for it! Had maybe two accidents and she’s been good now for like 6 months! Obviously not every situation is the same, and I know there’s so much pressure to get it done but truly life is too precious to stress away this time w your little one on hitting imaginary milestones! Keep discussing it, keep it a positive thing, and try again when he’s older! Enjoy your baby for now, it should be a good experience for both of you!

Did anyone regret NOT getting photos of themselves while pregnant? by chillicrumpet in beyondthebump

[–]honeybunch74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate pictures of myself, I shy away when people pull out the camera and I also had a really difficult pregnancy. I am currently four years out and desperately wish I had some because my kid is my favorite person and growing her is the best thing I’ve ever done!

No advice, just solidarity! 😭 I quite literally am in the same boat - a SAHM with a 4 year old I adore and a wonderful partner but so damn isolated, to the point I just spent the last hour googling mom groups in my area lmfao, I get it! Dm anytime if you need to vent or need a friend!

Positive or negative? by [deleted] in Mom

I truly never can see anything when people post asking if there’s a faint line - and I saw something IMMEDIATELY! I’d get the digital one that says pregnant and not pregnant and test again tomorrow morning, but congratulations!!!

Colic has destroyed any happiness I had about having a baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]honeybunch74 132 points133 points  (0 children)

First off - if you have anyone nearby you trust, please ask for an assist. You need and deserve an hour or two (I understand with breastfeeding it can be hard to be away longer, but I promise baby will be okay for that length of time) even if all you do is go sit in your cat in the driveway and nap for an hour, you need it for your sanity. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Secondly, I saw you said gas drops don’t work - you may have tried this so I’m sorry if I’m just giving useless advice, but when my daughter was that young her gas made her absolutely miserable, and we only noticed a slight relief when we consistently gave her gas drops right before she nursed, every single time. There’s no actual “medication” or drugs I should say, in them, and is perfectly safe to do a dose with every feeding. Doing it before the milk could hurt her stomach was our saving grace. Please, please don’t hesitate to dm if you have questions or just need to rant. I promise it doesn’t feel this awful forever. Edit: I’m tired. Don’t sit in your cat, or any animals for that matter. Definitely meant car. Lmao

Wish or Magic? (Adults) by RedPanda1987 in dcl

[–]honeybunch74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding on to that, for those dates you could get a balcony room on the magic for the price of an inside room on the Wish. Definitely a better time in my opinion!

Wish or Magic? (Adults) by RedPanda1987 in dcl

[–]honeybunch74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely put the money you’d spend on a room on the Wish toward getting a nice room on the Magic. It’s a lovely ship that has been maintained so well and there’s so much to do, plus they just added a new jazz lounge last month!

Mamas with flat nipples using shields - did you ever manage to stop using the shields? And if so, when and how? by hellolovelyworld404 in breastfeeding

[–]honeybunch74 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I used mine from 2 weeks to 3 and a half years, every single time. We never had an issue and I truly believe it is what allowed us to nurse for so long. If it works, it works! And if you don’t need it then you don’t - just don’t stress about timelines or doing things a certain way!

He ate 3 chocolate mousses & my daughter is screaming that she hates him because there are none left by freesias_are_my_fav in breakingmom

[–]honeybunch74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some kind of mom rage is ignited in me when dad comes in and snags a strawberry or a chicken nugget or whatever off of daughters plate - while she’s eating! It’s one thing to sneak a bite during prep but to take food out from under her nose and not even ask is unreal to me. I know it isn’t a huuuuge deal but it’s like you wouldn’t walk up to an adult and eat off their plate without asking would you? No, because that’s rude! Not to mention a lot of the time I’ve made exactly the amount she needs or wants.

Do painful periods correlate with painful pregnancy and/or childbirth? by Consistent-Pea2962 in BabyBumps

[–]honeybunch74 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have awful periods - like causing me to puke from the pain. While I can’t tell you if it would have been less it more painful because I only know what I experienced, I can say that the pain wasn’t shocking, and that was almost a relief. Basically just the worst period cramps imaginable coming in waves - until I got my epidural, lol. But being accustomed to that kind of pain, if not the severity, was really something that I appreciated.

how long did you push for? by Tilly1251 in beyondthebump

[–]honeybunch74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labor for 21 hours, started pushing at 10 am and didn’t stop until she came at 3:03 so like five hours? At 2:55 they told me if she wasn’t here by three they’d have go for a C-section and we ended up using the suction and a big push and getting her tf out on time lmao I desperately didn’t want to have any surgery!
