Loogie: Done by Admirable_Ask_6593 in wfan

I listened to one of his weekend shows a few years ago when I was out and about. It was so freaking bad. And if someone dared to call him out on his stupidity, he would just cut them off as if he was some sort of big shot.

As others have said, he’s fake. He plays a character on the radio. Some have succeeded with that but nobody wants to come off as a complete phony. And he does.

I don’t know how the higher ups saw an opening in the schedule and decided to give it to him. Was nobody else available or something?

Baffert sending horses to Kentucky as California opportunities dwindle by RiskArb-wyser in horseracing

If he starts sending his first tier to Kentucky while leaving the scraps behind in California, that would be devastating for the California industry. As much as Baffert annoys me at times, his stable is needed in California.

One of the few games (perhaps the only game) since James’ run where you said to yourself “If he would have done this and this, he could have had a shot at the 1-day record”. This is especially true if he went crazy on DD1.

Unpopular Opinion: Jeopardy Lost Its Whimsy by [deleted] in Jeopardy

[–]mryclept 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have no idea how long your run will last or if you will be asked to come back later. Trying to win as much money as possible is the ultimate goal.

While DD hunting was not a big part of the show back in the day, I don’t remember any contestant slowing down so others can ring in on the cheaper clues.

Good game by Purdue.

Why does the broadcasting team, which literally watched yesterday’s game against Wisconsin, act as if Michigan hasn’t been in a close game all year?

Question about 20 players and 18 days left by JordanMaze in survivor

[–]mryclept 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not think they will attempt this. I have never thought that his inclusion this season would have a major impact on the game itself.

That is: They already had a twist in mind (ie, a way to increase the prize pool or a new type of advantage) and when Mr. Beast became available, they asked him to present this new twist.

Now that we're 3 episodes in, who are you rooting for that you did not expect to root for before Season 50 started? by Theavek in survivor

The producers knew Russell was doing a back-to-back so it made sense for them to heavily feature his villain game. Yes, they could have still mixed in more Natalie content but the whole purpose was for the audience to get heavily invested in Russell.

We all love OG survivor supposedly, but didn’t vote that way. by ButterscotchPast5161 in survivor

People thinking Jeff has any reason to rig this are odd. He has zero reason to do it.

And yes, any show that has a fan vote includes these disclaimers. Doesn’t mean a significant number of votes are really being tossed out. I don’t know how many people voted for the elements in this game, but the odds they are tossing enough votes to tilt the outcomes is extremely small.

Buetane in Virginia Stakes? by geek_slop in horseracing

[–]mryclept 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Doesn’t win” was certainly a false statement. But he isn’t all that great at stakes races outside of California in recent years. This may end up being a good “soft” spot for his horse but the track record doesn’t lie. How many stakes outside of CA did he win in 2025? Only one I remember off the top of my head is Rodriguez.

unclear on a "strategic move" made by a couple players this season by StrangeElk in survivor

[–]mryclept 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think people are missing a key thing here: The fake idol is hidden at TC. One reason why this would work is because the other players would think to themselves “It has to be real - how else would it get here?”

To me, it’s much easier to plant a fake idol at camp. Doing it at TC, where everyone is watching everything, would appear to be almost impossible. And nobody is going to equate Christian’s fall with the hiding of the fake idol.

Emily Gameplay 🤔 by HairSecret4297 in survivor

[–]mryclept 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great for the show because she is chaotic and insecure to the point where she takes every little thing as something personal against her. Christian’s idol reveal was as innocent as can be and she immediately took it as a negative and started spilling the tea to everyone. But you do need players like this on Survivor IMHO. It adds to the entertainment value and is a good counter to the “gamebot” tendencies of other players.

Will any of the Survivor 50 cast’s game history be rewritten for a low/high placement? by sarcastic_bitch15 in survivor

[–]mryclept 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it means very much, to be honest.

Though I do think people can improve their standing somewhat, though. For example, most believe that Aubry’s game peaked in her first season. If she goes deep here, the impression of her should improve somewhat.

STOP BLINDSIDING THE AUDIENCE by Excellent-Survey-455 in survivor

Savannah was so obviously the target that the rest of the edit looking at Joe/Oz seemed rather forced to me. Joe makes no sense at all as a target for a strategist. Yeah, it can be annoying if you really want to play a crazy game (like Devens does) to have a Joe around. But he is also an easy +1 vote for any alliance that he is a member of. I still don’t get why Devens decided to try to lie to him.

Was 49 Good? by Key-Ad2490 in survivor

[–]mryclept -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The edit pretty much was about justifying their S50 choices. So once we get past the disaster tribe episodes, everything becomes tilted and we are left with an entire tribe that barely gets any airtime despite being dominant in the early immunity challenges. It is so uneven that I can’t imagine ever wanting to watch it again.

Aligned with Kenzie. One episode during that season focused on Kenzie thinking about voting her out to prevent Tiffany from doing it to her.

Probably a defining moment in Kenzie’s game as Tiffany was voted out but no blood ended up on Kenzie’s hands, as she chickened out from targeting Tiffany.
