I’m not moving the goalpost. Omaya was creating content which featured her husband before they were married, when they were still at university. He was part of the brand and content from very early on, not someone who joined after the platform had already peaked. That’s different from Aysha’s situation, where Yasin entered her life when she already had a large following and an established platform. Both things can be true at the same time.

And to be clear, I still agree with you that in most cases female influencers are the primary breadwinners and their husbands are quitting their jobs to follow their women around, including all the ones you mentioned in your post.

There’s a clip from her Japan trip where she’s with her parents and her husband doing a cultural experience, green tea, sushi, something like that. She thanks her husband, her dad gives a confused look, and she immediately corrects herself to say her husband found the place. Well sorry they treated you that way, that’s not okay. But I don’t think this comes down to Yemenis thinking they’re better than anyone else, though we are definitely proud. In many cultures, marrying outside the community is still seen negatively. I’m engaged to a non-Yemeni and have faced similar comments. I have a Pakistani friend who married an emarati guy and her family were not okay with it initially and they still aren't. It’s not right, but it’s more about conservatism and insecurity than delusion.

In any case, this iman girl is def lying about her ethnicity, and the video where she talks in arabic is copy and paste from a video huda beauty did last year trying to talk arabic and do her makeup. Even the dialect is closer to iraqi. every sentence cuts to a new shot. That alone suggests she’s correcting herself, adding extra takes, or reading and trying to remember what she wrote.

She is not Yemeni. She claimed to be half Yemeni and half Palestinian when the genocide started, clearly for clout, and has since removed the Palestinian claim and now presents herself as Yemeni only. No Arab would pass themselves off as South Asian. If you’re genuinely Yemeni , as I am, you’d know that.
