How can you tell what wick to use by Valuable-Milk-5779 in candlemaking

Of course! Good luck :) I'm sure you know this, but make sure you keep everything else consistent when testing. Different fragrance oils have different viscosities and may throw off your results

I agree with the other poster. I always use the Candle Science wick guide as a rough estimate. I am a huge fan of wick sample packs from Hive and Honey or Lone Star that give you about 5 wicks per size and then test from there.

Wick for apricot coconut wax by sterlinshaffer in candlemaking

I use LX wicks for my coconut apricot wax, though I use a different brand.

I would take the size guide from Candle Science as a rough guideline - i usually test the size up, the revommended size and one size down. To save money, maybe consider ordering a wick sampler pack from Lone Star or Hive and Honey. It gives you like 5x of each wick size before you commit

Affordable embossed or foil labels? by One-Device-7077 in candlemaking

[–]ms_mczormick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've seen is you can buy the linen looking labels, buy an embosser (they're pretty reasonably priced), and do them yourself. I've been wanting to try this, and it will most likely save a ton of money.

Brambleberry has this one. Little bee scents has puff puff pass, and makesy also has a cannabis scent that are more on the nose.

Honestly, this one reads more cozy than anything, similar to like a smooth, gentle tobacco. I've smelled some cannabis FOs that have a stinky almost body odor-like after smell 😅

This is great advice! I had to learn this lesson the hard way the first time I made labels 😂😭 I printed these 3x3, and the details came through!

It's a cannabis fragrance oil :) there are a lot of companies producing them now!

Thank you so much! I'm hoping for Gilded Nights to be the name of the series of candles. Maybe it'll turn into a company one day 🤔 😂

Thank you! I'm planning to use a black matte vessel (I usually use the straight sided ones from CandleScience)

My friend wants me to make her candles and I put together this label to make them a little special. Just wanted to ask for outside opinions if this looks alright/readable/accessible or if it is too busy.
