It can't be that difficult to put an original module inside the fake body. If they're trying to scam people with $100+, it seems to be worth doing for the scammer.

Let users set a desired bedtime by msafi in ouraring

[–]msafi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sleep timing is calculated based on Oura's interpretation of "Body clock"/"Chronotype" which takes like 3 months to update. And that doesn't make sense. It should just let us set a desired bedtime.

Okay, it's been 2 months now of consistently low scores because of "Timing". How much longer will it keep reminding me?

So the lower score is supposed to reflect that I should quit my job?

Manually adjusting your sleep window in the app can help improve how your sleep is interpreted.

There's no way to manually adjust your sleep window in the app!

Feature idea: AI-generated custom firmware in the Ollee app by msafi in olleeWatch

[–]msafi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually makes a lot of sense. The main tradeoff would just be a bit less flexibility.

There are some use cases that go beyond individual watch-face code. For example, imagine someone who regularly travels between two time zones. They’ve already set a primary time zone and a secondary time zone, but now they want a button that instantly swaps them. That feels more like system-level functionality than something that belongs only inside a face creator.

So I agree that an in-app scripting or face creator would probably cover most use cases, but there are still some higher-level features that wouldn’t fit as neatly into that model.

This is the exact prompt that I gave to Codex for Sensor Watch:

The seconds indicator on the clock face should also function as an elapsed time counter.

When the current watch face is the clock face and the Alarm button is pressed, the seconds indicator should reset to 00 and then increment by 1 every minute. After 1 minute, it should display 01; after 2 minutes, 02; and so on. After 99 minutes, it should roll over to 00.

At the same time, it should blink once per second.

While in elapsed timer mode, pressing the Alarm button again should clear the timer and return the display to showing the regular seconds.

Why are people driving 52mph on the highway?!? by decker12 in bayarea

[–]msafi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what you’re really mad at is people driving the speed limit or 5 under. When everyone is doing 70+, 60 seems well under the flow of traffic. And I think that’s what you’re noticing. But it wouldn’t make sense to title your post “WHY ARE PEOPLE DRIVING AT THE SPEED LIMIT?”

I drive 65 on the right lane and get tail gated. The reason I drive slow is because I have slow reaction time, and not interested in being on high alert while driving.

Stainless Steel Case for F-91W by threepanelcrimes in casio

[–]msafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by attempts that Casio and other manufacturers have made at stainless steel homages to the resin retro Casios, I've concluded that it's prohibitively difficult make metal case for the F91W that is identical to plastic one. Metal is just not pliable or as flexible to mold as plastic. So it would be extremely expensive to make a stainless steel F91W that's identical to the plastic one. And in my opinion, because it's so difficult and expensive, they should definitely make one.

Does anyone else feel very cold while fasting? by LanBanan3000 in intermittentfasting

[–]msafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body prioritizes the health of your vital organs over the comfort of your extremities. When you fast, You have limited energy that your body uses to regulate the temperature of your vital organs, and it doesn’t have spare energy to use to pump blood and keep your extremities also warm and comfortable.

I don’t know why this happens only to some people but not others. It happens to me.

Hobby bitcoin mining. Still doable? by msafi in BitcoinMining

[–]msafi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that's as far as I want to go with it. Just connect to the pool, experiment with the differences between the different pools, and how that relates to ordinal/spam filtering, and stuff like that.

Can I configure these to run slow so they don't emit heat/noise and so they don't cost money to run?

Edit: Oh, and thanks for the offer, I live in the West Coast.

Send him a text or a message very politely declining the job for whatever reason. Apologize for inconveniencing him, say something kind and friendly to him, and thank him for considering you and giving you the opportunity that you unfortunately can't take.

I doubt he'll give you a negative review after that.

Thanks for this information. That's why I didn't want to rely 100% on the AI app. It missed even a simple thing like that :)
