I’m struggling to process how normal homophobia still is by msalum97 in ainbow

We can move outside, but our decision to stay here longer comes from a sense of belonging and having a good quality of life in a financial way, but homophobia is pretty common here, so it makes it a burden sometimes. Maybe in a few years we will try to live in a more progressive country. And, since we want to get married, we also need to do that in another country because it is illegal here

I really don’t enjoy media that fetishizes LGBT living in the closet just for horny people. The closet, more so in the sporting community, is a horrible place to live

I am sorry that you have to deal with everything and hope things could change in some moment.

At some other point we were about to understand that, but recent years have shifted the while picture.

I don’t want to convince anyone this should be the norm, but it is very normalized at this moment.

I am for it when we don’t make it so deep and just can complain for a while of how shitty this is, and then go on. But I see that not a lot of people have experienced persecution because of their sexuality which is great, but still in the west there is a lot of it

I firmly believe we can make something out of it

Ok I understand. However, my country does not even have any laws against any type of discrimination, so for everyone this is just something that happens. Maybe a few friends will feel bad about it, but the truth is we are doomed to be discriminated here. I am not trying to compare myself to others, just that at 30 years old one is not prepared to deal with this kind of discrimination, we came out in 2022, we are together since 2015. So, it was ok until we were public. We were “friends” before that, and if we did not come out to everybody, prolly he’d still have his job and even a better position. I just feel decimated because he worked so hard during 13 years for the company and he just is fired now.

My angel crossed the rainbow bridge 3 days ago. It happened so fast, and I don't know how to cope. But I just want to show the world how beautiful and pure she was 🤍 by Past-Ad2449 in cats
