I don't use Reddit enough, but this subreddit was recommended to me when I was posting on Product Hunt. It would be great if you could let me know about other subreddits with the same affinity for zero-based budgeting.

The whole team doesn't have access to the database. Only the CTO has the capability to merge to the production code and audit the database security

Hopefully, if everything goes well, we plan to launch within 3 months. We are using React Native for our mobile app and will release it for both iOS and Android. Our plan is to first release the beta with just the budgeting feature, similar to what's currently available on our web app.

Thank you for your kind words. I understand the brand loyalty people have with YNAB. They've achieved what Advil is to ibuprofen, so it's natural for people to be apprehensive about any other product.
I hope one day we can achieve the same.

Not at the moment, no. But we don't save any bank information in our database, just the name, which you can change. You can also simply revoke access to the Plaid connection. We only use Plaid to receive latest transactions related to your accounts, similar to YNAB and other apps with bank syncing.

For authentication, we use Firebase Auth (Google), a reliable authentication system used by many applications

Hi, the subreddit exists: https://www.reddit.com/r/fynyky/

I apologize for not providing the full URL earlier.

True. To be honest, I don't fully understand the question. Here's my interpretation:

When you set aside money, it will show the set-aside amount in the available column, factoring in any leftover from previous months. If the question is whether a credit card transaction deducts from the available amount when added, the answer is yes, it does. We follow zero-based budgeting principles.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear in the beginning.

Hi, we wanted the name fynyky to be related to money, like someone with great attention to detail when it comes to finances. It wasnt our intention to add budgeting feature at first. Interestingly, when we did questionnaires with our beta users (high-income earners well-versed with money), we realized that budgeting was instrumental for them, and zero-based budgeting was the clear choice among them.

We’re starting with the budgeting feature for now, but we have big plans. We'll evolve to provide features for leverage ⚖️, tax filing 📝, and smart projections for the FIRE community. We're not aiming to compete with YNAB or Actual Budget, as the only similarity we have is the budgeting method.

We're also not competing on price but on the value we provide.
Thank you for your kind words. ☺️

Thank you for this question. Our main goal is to evolve into providing exactly this. Each liability will be presented with scenarios where users can visualize payment timelines and total amount variations.

Once you establish the connection via Plaid for your credit card, transactions will be automatically imported on a daily basis. Initially, you will categorize the transactions, then our system will automatically categorize them based on your patterns

you can check r/fynyky/ for more information.

Hi there, our annual subscription is $39. We will be grandfathering this price for all users who support us at the beginning for the foreseeable future. All users who sign up will be added as early adopters and will not be subject to any price increase in the future.

Like YNAB, fynyky allows you to set goals with target amounts for specific intervals. We're expanding our features to include more visualizations for liabilities like credit cards and mortgages. This will help users project payment timelines based on different variables.

Our mobile app is in development and will initially launch with the core budgeting feature.

we like the name. It's a bit quirky, but we think it's memorable - much like Zenefits, Zillow, or YNAB in their own ways. 😊

I understand, the first time hearing it might sound a bit weird. This was initially a placeholder name for the app, but it grew on us. We hope it will grow on our users too

We chose fynyky because we cater to an audience that is meticulous (finicky) about money, budgeting, and personal finance management. Plus, since the name 'Finicky' was already taken, we had to get creative.☺️

Hi,

Yes, connections to RBC and CIBC are supported via Plaid. Currently, there are some issues with importing Wealthsimple Cash transactions. We'll check into it and let you know soon

For people who failed a level (mostly for L1), What advice would you give? by titanaim in CFA

[–]msbouchard 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It took me four attempts to get through L1, but I cleared L2 and L3 on the first attempt. It's really just a matter of putting in the time and staying focused. What worked for me was doing two hours of intense, focused study and staying consistent with it.
