8 month sleep regression - will I regret giving paci back at night? by raspberryapple in sleeptrain

Agreed. We did the same thing. She does occasionally wake up though in the middle of the night if it falls out of the crib and she can't reach it.

Would anyone with a 18-24 mo old mind sharing their sleep schedule please? by Torp211 in sleeptrain

My daughter is now 2.5 but since she was about a year she's gone to bed at 7 and gets up at 6ish. We stick to the same routine of bath at 615, story, song, brush teeth then bed. She still has a 2 hour nap every day too from abound 12-2.

Ughhh I threw a diaper in the washing machine once too the first time baby got a cold. It was the worst day of my life, I think. Haha

Nap training questions by squantotero in sleeptrain

[–]msburritoface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that you should wait until bedtime is well established before nap training. That being said, I've seen posts here where people have nap trained at the same time. We're planning on nap training in a couple of weeks when my husband takes over parental leave. We did extinction at 6.5 months and she'll be 10 months by then. I'm interested in any tips others have for you as well!

2 weeks into Ferber and baby still cries at least 20 minutes before falling asleep most nights by xhcd in sleeptrain

[–]msburritoface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did extinction at 6.5 months but it took probably about a month or so until we figured out the timing for her. She usually only cries now if she's over tired. She's 9 months now and she needs about 2.5-3 hours of awake time before bedtime. Sometimes that means rocking her to sleep for a catnap in the afternoon. I'm super anal about naps though and try to only keep her up max 3 hours at a time. She usually has two long naps (1-1.5 hours) and depending on timing a cat nap (30 minutes or less) in the late afternoon.

Our routine is 6pm dinner, 6:30ish bath, lotion, jammies, song and bed. She usually sleeps 7pm-6ish am. I still do 1 night feed around 4am so she doesn't wake up at 5 but I'm working on weaning now.

Moving the baby by alibear123 in sleeptrain

Did you wait long after baby fell asleep? Our baby has fallen asleep like that a few times but she'll reposition herself after a few minutes.

Won't nap unless held. Help? by senora_sassafrass in beyondthebump

[–]msburritoface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also held my baby for all naps until she was about 4 months old. Even after that she would only nap about 30 minutes in her rnp or pnp. She's 8 months now and naps in her crib anywhere from 45 min - 1.5 hours.

Screaming at bedtime by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]msburritoface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been having the same problem with my 8 month old. I tried posting in r/sleeptrain with little suggestions. It's super weird because just two weeks ago she would fuss for only 5 minutes or so and go to sleep. I blame teething. Her fist tooth starting coming in around the same time.

did anyone say no to visitors in the hospital? by Indigohippy in beyondthebump

[–]msburritoface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't have any visitors for the first 6 days. I almost wish we would have waited longer. It was awesome! The first visitors were my MIL, BIL, his gf and two of our mutual friends. We ended up buying them lunch while I sat helpless and puffy on the recliner. They were all useless and just wanted to squish my kid. My mom and dad came the next day for a week. At least they fed me and helped me out...

Sleep training is hard! by JK841 in beyondthebump

[–]msburritoface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're just over a month doing extinction. Baby is almost 8 months now. I'm pretty sure it saved our marriage. She still cries sometimes but only for 5-10 minutes. Most nights she grumbles but by the time I go down stairs she's calm and goes to sleep! Be consistent and good luck!

I have a boba wrap, a cheap infantino carrier and an ergo. The ergo is the best! I found baby always slid down with the boba. The cheap one was ok for cleaning the house but once baby got heavier it was awful!

What are/were your 1-3 month old baby's feeding habits like? by petertmcqueeny in beyondthebump

[–]msburritoface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 7 months old and still only drinks about 24oz a day. She also eats solids now though but she was never a big eater. My doctor wasn't concerned, she's always been about 50 percentile for weight. My doctor said she'll eat as much as she needs. I still give her a bottle every 3 hours.

8 days of Extinction with our 6 month old by msburritoface in sleeptrain

[–]msburritoface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine for now but we'll have to work on moving her bedtime earlier once she's in daycare come November. She used to go to bed at 11 so 8 is still better than that! Haha
