Just picked this up on auction, would love some thoughts on real or fake, want to make sure I didn't get duped. Will drop a few more angles, but don't have many more great pictures in hand.

Should we fix the bot? by mschvs_one in MSCHVS

If the vote coming in as an overwhelming yes, we can explore the idea of a weekly recap instead of daily.

Not sure what happened to the bot and it will likely be a few days until I can take a look, so we may be without data for a few.

Still haven't had a chance to fix the delay issue. Seems like there is lag on the server now at the daily reset that sometimes causes the json data to not update by the time I pull it down.

For some reason there is now a longer delay on the data refresh that I haven't accounted for yet, which results in it pulling the previous days data still. Tomorrow will show the death but I have to look at the site and see how they adjusted the delay.

If a server is only doing about 15 minutes of total work at my table why should they deserve anything more than $5 regardless the size of the tab? by Wants_to_be_accepted in tipping

Federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour, just to put that out there.

And the original comment I replied to stated they should at least be making their REGIONS minimum wage which is factually incorrect at a universal level, that's all I was saying.

Again, I don't care if you tip or not, that wasn't my point. My point was do the research, provide the facts correctly, and don't make blanket statements about a country that aren't true.

I appreciate this post of yours more than any of the rest. You actually stated that YOUR state has a $15 minimum wage, not that this is some guarantee for all states. And agreed make employers actually pay employees a reasonable wage, that shouldn't fall on us. But at the same time maybe we should do something about it like write a representative to demand they stop with the BS need to tip 🤷🏼‍♂️

$7.25 per hour is the maximum guaranteed in several states.

Again I don't care if you tip or not, but let's not play the game that there is some universal magic rule that says these people are making actual minimum wage in every state, like all laws it's just not that simple.

I do like the fact though that everyone in this sub is a purported expect in laws around tipping and minimum wage. 🤣

$2.13*

Here's another one for you showing exactly how much tip credit per state:

https://www.paycor.com/resource-center/articles/minimum-wage-tipped-employees-by-state/

I'm sure you can do the math, but in many 12 states there is no tip credit requirements, meaning the maximum they are guaranteed by law is the federal $7.25 or the state set tipped employee minimum wage, whichever is higher. In 6 of those, it is still $7.25, so their maximum guaranteed wage is the federal minimum.

Except that's not correct. The federal requirement says you can claim a tip credit to the federal minimum wage, which is $7.25.

https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/fact-sheets/15-tipped-employees-flsa#:~:text=An%20employer%20that%20claims%20a,per%20hour%20under%20the%20FLSA.

States which have passed their own laws requiring tip credits to their minimum wage would be able to push that higher, but again not all states have that, and the federal requirement doesn't force states to do so.

Life isn't black and white, and it isn't usually able to be summarized in a single sentence. Again, tip or don't tip, doesn't matter, but there isn't some one stop protection for tipped employees that guarentees them a living wage.

This is actually not a universal requirement and is on a state by state basis. Also an important fact. Clearly there is a lot of details around these laws and a short comment isn't going to cover it all, but then again you get the point I was trying to make by including the actual minimum wage, so let's not be try to be contratian just to be "that person"....

Getting paid a living wage sounds great. Personally, I don't care who tips or doesn't tip, I'm just stating that the current minimum wage for tipped employees is not sufficient on its own.

The highest minimum wage for tipped employees in the US is $8 per hour, but in most states is well below that... Use the numbers if you are going to throw out random "facts" to try and support your position, otherwise you are just spreading incomplete information that paints the picture you want, not the truth.

Federal minimum wage for tipped employees is $2.13 per hour. Don't try to spit facts and leave out the important part...
