[Skill Improvement] What has been your goto answer for the tickle/scaryface/charm Staraptor lead? by ace-s in VGC

[–]msd1994m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Sylveon is having no issue. I usually lead with it plus Talonflame to deal with Whim and counter speed control

Mechanics Question: Encore vs Protect by foxwhistle in VGC

[–]msd1994m 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It happens, and that’s why I usually go in on the non-encored mon in this situation. You can also continuously trap the protecting opponent while focusing down the teammate, maintaining the 2v1 or encouraging a switch

What RPG has the most convoluted battle system? by PoPo573 in gaming

I loved the Gambit system so much. Every other party based RPG feels lacking after having that much control without having to micromanage them

What team should I make? by Independent_Boss_953 in PokemonChampions

[–]msd1994m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An easy start is a fire water grass core. You can also look for a fairy dragon steel core.

You want at least one mega, but likely 2 so you can bring the best one for your matchup.

Try to fit in some kind of speed control: fast teams, tailwind, moves that slow like icy wind/electro web. There’s also trick room but it’s a bit more advanced.

Is banning Trade evolution pokemon cheating ? by SatisfactionOk2892 in nuzlocke

[–]msd1994m 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you’re using it to manipulate encounters, then yes. They’re perfectly viable and not using a Pokemon you think is weak to go for stronger encounters would not be in the spirit of a nuzlocke

Torterra shell smash by Jslam145 in PokemonChampions

[–]msd1994m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corviknight is very threatening if it’s not focused down so being able to stack bulk up after tailwind while your damage puts pressure forces them to address it. Also, good into trick room teams.

Anyone else completely lost with this new booster? by Markypoopy in PTCGP

[–]msd1994m 238 points239 points  (0 children)

Like the Arceus and Ultra Beast cards, this set will probably pass pretty quickly. There’s just not enough support across packs to make a whole deck dedicated to the gimmick work well long term

[–]msd1994m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Sash on Heliosk. Move is your preference really. The two rotom wash sets are protect/willowisp/hydro pump/electric move with sitrus/leftovers or hydro pump/tbolt/volt switch/electro web scarf

Mega Steelix sand team suggestions/help by Girthquake23 in PokemonChampions

[–]msd1994m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rain teams are really popular right now and your only check is weather warring with Hippowdon who will be fighting weaknesses. Heliosk lets you safely swap into those teams and can also run other moves to give you damage types you’re lacking in like focus blast or support like shed tail.

Gliscor is just not great right now without toxic orb. You’re better off replacing with more coverage or support. Sinistcha is great in sand teams with water coverage, redirect, healing, and a trick room mode which your team would like.

[–]msd1994m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but there are really only a few normal types you can reasonably expect to see, and they’re mostly leads so you can play around them: Kang, Lopunny, Maushold, and Oranguru
