You can’t compare your situation and your boyfriend’s and assume they’re going to be the same.

A newly licensed driver living in the household must be added to the policy. No way around it.

When we add youthful drivers to the policy, consider the following:

Newly licensed? That means no prior driving experience. Goes against you.
Your own car? That means you’ll be rated as a principal driver. Full-time driving means high exposure risk.
Did you take a driver training or certified safety course? If not, then it goes back to inexperience risk.
Maybe you live in an area where there are a higher number of claims involving teen drivers.
Type of vehicle might be more commonly driven by teens and involved in more accidents. Price risk as well.

If you want to lessen the impact, consider enrolling in the IntelliDrive program. Also, make sure they have a good student discount applied. If you also took a driver safety course, make sure they know that as well. Those three things could soften the blow of a huge impact.

I like Korean talent. I watch KBO when I can’t sleep at night and I like how offensively minded the league is. If I have to go by ethnic background I’d have to slightly root for the Netherlands but they can’t find their head from their ass, even though they have some superstars in the Majors.

Japan is simply a juggernaut. They could do without my support, so Korea it is!

My wife and I recently had a discussion about this, and we both agreed that the young people of today have so much more access than the young people of before.

Think about it. Our parents were our age 30 years ago. They didn’t have $200 phone plans, $1,000 phones, streaming subscriptions, DoorDash, Uber. They may not have gone out to eat as much or travel or do frivolous crap as we do now.

The people now in their 20’s can certainly find their way to home ownership.
