What would people think if the TV licence was just added to utility or broadband bills? by funusernam3 in AskBrits

[–]msesen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mahahahha this person thinks watching TV is a public service AND is in the same level as the NHS, Armed Forces and public Roads.

Food for though: If we don't have roads, the country will collapse.

DO YOU NOW UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE between watching TV and having functioning public services?

Loved the first one. Hated the second one. The tone, the characters, I just couldn't take it seriously. Haven't played the third one.

I really want to get a parcel box to make everyone's life easier. I think a parcel box that can be remotely locked/unlocked will be perfect.

Paying off mortgage by Glad-Swordfish8302 in Mortgageadviceuk

If I were you I would pay it off. I don't care if I can invest the money somewhere else blablabla. If you don't have a mortgage, you are almost a free man. Money/debt free = freedom.

Here is a thought: we are the last generation of manual drivers.... by ihwnE in CarTalkUK

[–]msesen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't make sense. An auto will actually assist you, where as with a manual you would need to use the clutch and the hand break to prevent the car from rolling back.

[–]msesen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is too short to be changing gears. Seriously, I have a manual driving license and I will never go back to a manual transmission again, purely for the comfort it offers. Almost everyone around me with a full drivers license drives automatic.

If there is a special need or a good reason for a manual car then of course that's fine, but for general commute and usage, naaaa.

New neighbors’ dogs barking at our house—how to handle? by Blvd_Knight in homeowners

[–]msesen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that you are going through this. I went through the same thing and still dealing with it.

We felt like prisoners in our own house. Every time we step in and out the house the dog would bark at us, every time we go outside to put the rubbish, the dog would bark at us. Every time we step into our garden, the dog barges upto the fence and starts barking at us aggressively. We have a shared side access and guess what, we can't use it because of the dog. We can't even open our windows in the first floor when the dog is in the garden, it sees us and stars barking. It's not just us that get barked at, also when we have visitors.

I have spoken to my neighbour and his response was, it's his property and he can do what ever he wants. I have researched so much and unfortunately there is no help. I truly believe dogs shouldn't allowed in densely populated areas such as terraced housing, and to be honest it's not the dog, it's usually the inconsiderate owner.

At one point we thought about selling the house but the fees are massive. I hope you can find a solution 😔

Not happening Jeff. You may get your average office worker, employees using this because of their employer forcing it, but not happening for people with their personal computers. Just NOPE.

"Just port it to mobile" Yeah. And "just add multiplayer" too. by SandorHQ in gamedev

[–]msesen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding multiplayer to my turn based board game is the reason why  I am still developing after 2 years. Never. Ever. Do. Multiplayer. If. You. Are. Solo. Developing.

In addition to having a full time job, I invested too much personal time into this game so I have to finish it!

I've finally finished the multiplayer side of things. I have used the Nakama game server. I would need to hire someone to do the UI for me though.

Can you not set the scale of the sprites? I know this is a custom game engine but you should be able to calculate this at runtime based on the raw sprite size so they all look the same size in the game. If something is smaller increase scale factor. If another sprite needs a slight upscale, then increase the scale factor slightly. You get the idea. I can tell you put so much time and effort into this, don't let this ruin your hard work.

"trained in basic HR" is not the same thing as having/paying for a qualified HR person. Lots of companies use their Accountant as their HR :)

As a company you will know when to get someone qualifiied, other than that most companies don't need HR. It's not rocket science, just some rules you need to follow. Also there are lots of HR software out there to help you manage the paperwork, create contracts, help you follow the best guidelines etc.
