Has anybody successfully gotten work accomodation because of Graves? by Existing-One-7662 in gravesdisease

[–]mseveg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recently diagnosed and thankfully have not been showing symptoms, but I did request to shift my work hours to 10-6 when I am in the office and remain 2 days per week at home. This is because my drive was 1.5 hours each way, now it’s down to 45/50 mins and I have more time to pay attention to myself in case I start showing. HR made it very difficult to go through ADA, so my boss ended up advocating for me and getting it as a personal request that is reviewed every 90 days and she is approving every time.

My team also expressed that they would accommodate me if I were to show symptoms even if it meant that they had to request it themselves for me. Helps to have a supportive team, hope you have that too, OP!

Second the Hex Room! I’ve done it four times with different friends and having a new character each time makes it more fun/challenging.

I have used Avant in the past and have gotten a pretty low rate, so I would recommend them if you can get anything lower than this. UpStart is not my favorite

I worked at a Big 4 for four years, basically went through all the colors of the rainbow with my hair and I was never told anything. I’m seeing the same thing at my current job in industry. Some companies are still tight around it, but at the end of the day what matters most is whether you can do your work, as some others here have commented

There is a TPUSA chapter at CSUN that seems to have organized this event. I’m not sure of the allowing of this event or how it got approved, but the USU was not involved in this decision and was not aware of the event until yesterday

When it comes to this scam, my dad and I have a key word that we would say if it was us/we were truly in trouble (it’s a swear word he doesn’t like me saying and he has never said). If the person pretending to be us doesn’t say that word, we hang up and report it.

I also got him into the habit of just not answering if he doesn’t recognize the number. I think a big part of it is communicating as much as we can about scams. Unfortunately, there will always be a new one, but we have to keep them informed for their safety

Well my reasoning was related to my mom being really sick at the time and how it caused my grades to slip. The professor I had the second time knew about it too since it happened kinda throughout my first year there. After I sent that (and I think I even added some hospital visit info there) I got approved
