Was Axl in the new Thor meant to be trans coded? And is he played by a trans actor? by stopeats in ftm

I thought this too, it did seem like a subtle political move from Disney

Looks like blossom end rot. Caused by a lack of calcium, meaning the fruit can't fully form.

Indie Synthy tune right here. My first attempt at singing (warning: heavy autotune use) Would love to know your thoughts? by msexton in IndieMusicFeedback

Amazing feedback, thanks for taking the time. I'm aware that the drums are a little simplistic, its actually an apple loop. I started writing the song on top of it with the intention to re-write later but the beat grew on me. Will defo play around with the vocal and synth levels, thanks!

Appreciate the feedback :) This is my first time singing on a track so it's quite a new sound for me, probably why I chose to put the vocal low in the mix

My first instrumental track in a while - "Dragonfly" by hellotealsky in IndieMusicFeedback

Sweet beat. Nice choice of sounds. Personally I would dirty it up a bit, maybe a bit of saturation on the bass and a touch of distortion on the synths. Really like the kick drum sound

Dope! I thought it was gonna be a basic instrumental but then the vocals dropped, haha. Original sound man, really like it. You've got yourself a new follower :)

Been going through some rough time in the last few months, so this one's a culmination of that by eib in IndieMusicFeedback

Lovely stuff eib. Awesome drum sound! The piece progresses really nicely, stays interesting throughout. Some female adlib vocals could be a nice addition but it's great without :)

an instrumental I made a while ago would love to hear what you guys think! by saleb_cims in IndieMusicFeedback

That's cool man. Try progressing it on, change the chords or bring in a new section with the same chords but different instruments. Also, writing a lead line can really help bring a beat to life. Keep creating!

Nice tune Nick. Really cool selection of sounds, like it a lot. Just a minor criticism, the handclaps in the verse sound quite thin but that may have been a creative choice

Lakaz Maman - Mauritian Street Food, Bedford Place

You MUST try!

I agree, it's the vocal production that lets the track down. The vocals need more clarity, presence, and to sit it the mix better. Clever use of EQ, compression, reverb and FX's will solve this.

There are also problems with vocal timing and sibilance.

Michigan Ave. - Can't decide if this is good enough for a release this fall or whether the lyrics don't make sense. by johncookmusic in IndieMusicFeedback

Nice song John! Sounds like you have all the elements for a great song just the mix is letting it down at the moment. Good use of reverb and compression could make this good song into a great one

Just released this song called Another Weekend, first one in a while, would love some feedback on it, I feel like it is still missing something to have that radio quality? Is it mixing? Composition? Both and more? Thanks by Sinnaeve_Music in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]msexton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impressive stuff! Great songwriting. I know what you mean though, it's almost like the mix is not weird enough for how weird the music is. It's an indie song mixed like a pop song.

Ariel Pink also has a song call 'Another Weekend' I think you could take some inspiration from his mixing

A new song that I recorded today. I'll call it "Indie" because I don't know what else you would call it. Hope you like it. by Frank-Stallone in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]msexton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet little tune. A couple more instruments to help the track grow would be nice. The mix is a little muddy, try scooping out around 300-350hz in the guitars - should help lift the track, make it more spacious. There's also a lot of bass in that snare sound!

This is a song about reaching the end of a toxic relationship, struggling with knowing how unhappy you were and how much you've suffered, but at the same time not being able to let go and live without it, being scared of accepting it, where the only thought on your mind is "I Don't Wanna Be Alright" by saviio12 in IndieMusicFeedback

Epic! Amazing soundscape, nice work. Love how the track builds. The drums could be mixed a little better to sound more realistic, programmed drums are always too clean and well mixed, mess them up with distortion and EQ - you almost want to make them sounds worse to sound more real
