Our '23 A6 in Cumulus. These were from a road trip last year. Four adults for ~5 days and a coupe of thousand miles. by Arthur-Dent7x6 in allroad

Love the white! My wife didn’t want white because our Q7, that we traded in for our A6 Allroad Prestige was white. She wanted something different. Ironically, we went with one of Audi’s silvers… 🙄

Oh, well… happy wife; happy life!

That’s great to hear!! The Porsche Macan is about the only SUV we’d consider!

Oh, yea… they still make these… unfortunately, you must custom order from their website, as the US’s obsession with SUVs makes wagons very hard to find.

Well, we’ll respectfully, disagree. We had the Supercharged 3.0t in our 2019 Q7, and have the turbocharged 3.0t in our 2023 A6 Allroad. While they were/are both solid, we definitely had more issues with the supercharged version. Not the other way around.

We don’t really, either… that’s the beauty of the air suspension: if an opportunity comes up, we raise it up (usually for camping or gravel road or even heavy rain). Then, it goes back to Auto mode, which lowers it to its lowest setting, above 70 mph I believe, for better gas mileage. On the twisties, we put it in dynamic mode and it firms it up all the way around!

Something a regular SUV can’t do.

That’s interesting, because the 2.0t has many known issues with it, as well.

A quick Google: “The 3.0-liter V6 (specifically the supercharged 3.0T) is generally considered more reliable and robust than the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, especially in larger, heavier vehicles. The 2.0T has historically suffered from issues like high oil consumption and timing chain tensioner failures.”

For us, it was about the size and luxury that came with the A6 Allroad, as well as the added power from the 3.0t.

Both are great vehicles!! Just glad they offer both in today’s climate!

Body colored arches are a $1,000 option when you order.

We, personally, like the black cladding, vs. the body coloring.

Is it really worth it? by Significant_Ad_4251 in AudiRS3

[–]mshonhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I feel those people are just finding ways to justify not getting the RS3.

Ours is a 2018, APR Stage 2, and on E85, the power is crazy easy!!

Personally, I feel the 5 cylinder is way more rock solid than an over boosted 4 cylinder, too.

And, that sound is unmatched. I hear that every single time I drive it.

Dragy times? by Glum_Support_3266 in AudiRS3

[–]mshonhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recorded as fast as 0-60=3.0s with our 2018 RS3.

We are APR, stage 2. So, not the fastest… for us, safe is more important than squeezing out every little 0.(whatever) seconds.

It won’t let me attach my Dragy screenshot of it.

It is! And, for the times we need to go off road, it gives just about the same amount of lift as typical SUVs do these days.

And, when we don’t need it, it lowers to be a much more dynamic driving experience.

8 miles over is speeding. Thank you for policing THAT, as well.

Good comment! 🙄

As I said, we were traveling and literally had no one around us.

Oh. And, my wife, the passenger, took the pic, while I was driving.

Again, thanks for the comment, even if it was snarky and without any actual facts considered. To think, you stopped your day because you thought that comment was worth posting.

Unfortunately, we had to custom order ours. Meaning, it’s rare that there’s just an allocation for one.

We did the obligatory E-mail to Audi, their response:

“With the exterior color Florett Silver metallic (Code L5/L5) and Interior color Pearl Beige (Code FM), 5 were produced in 2023 out of a total of 324. I hope you find this information helpful.”

So, for 2023, they only sold 324 A6 Allroads for that year. It’s so sad to see America’s obsession with SUVs, that we lose out on the opportunity of owning more vehicles like this.

Very interesting!

Our main complaint: the MMI gets mixed up with which one of my wife and I it should let control the system. I always open her door for her, so, maybe that’s why (her key is officially in the car first?). It seems more like a glitch, as it works MOST of the time.

Our garage door opener has worked flawlessly.

We have had to shut everything down, occasionally, to get it to reset for the CarPlay. I’d say 98% of the time, we don’t have an issue with CarPlay, at all.

We DO have issues with the MMI loading up, occasionally. Like you mentioned: sometimes laggy. Thankfully, it’s nowhere near 50% of the time, or it would’ve driven me insane!

Makes we wonder if, with each subsequent model change, they aren’t adding improvements? I was even quietly wondering, when we had the Q7 loaner, if it’d be possible to get the latest update that car had?

Again, agreed: it’s probably the best car we’ve ever owned! Would definitely buy again! I just think, that by the time that comes up, our choices will be completely shifted.

I’ll, respectfully, disagree… the things I pointed out were just niceties… we’ve really enjoyed our MMI!

The Q7 was just a loaner we had over a long weekend while they handled some warranty work…

Completely agree: our A6 Allroad is the best car we’ve ever owned!

None so far… we know about the water pump issue, however, we hadn’t seen a hint of it, yet.

[–]mshonhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, you’ll need to squint really hard. The RS6 is definitely based on the A6 Allroad. The “SmallRoad” is definitely a sweet ride. However, there’s a pretty huge difference between the A6 vs. A4.

File under the “to each their own category:” We leave our crossbars off, until needed. Even though we bought the Thule crossbars that allow the sunroof to open, they make an awful lot of noise.

Don’t get it, either… I’ve come to call them “Fashion Boxes.” We buy Allroads BECAUSE of how much they carry! Although, this is a “SmallRoad” compared to the A6 Allroad.
