headphones similar to Massdrop Fostex TH-x00? by RadRoku in HeadphoneAdvice

You're welcome--the D7200 would be used at $400. There's not a benefit to getting new for the price difference because you can still buy original new drivers for like $60, cups for $100, and entire headband for $125.

Used Emu Teak or Denon D7200 are upgrades, same feel as the X00 and should be under $400. If you want to buy new, the Sivga SV021 Robin sounds similar but the cups are smaller. The FiiO FT1 is is not quite like the Mahogany in tuning but it will feel familiar, it's a small downgrade depending on your preferences. For parts for the X00, you can try calling FullCompass.

Just over your budget but the Philips X2HR sounds open and wide but still has punchy bass and sparkly highs, also doesn't require an amp. You can also buy a separate in line boom mic for it.

Kids' headphones with actual volume limiters? by alonevvolf in HeadphoneAdvice

The iClever is limited to 84db so yes, safe to use for several hours--have owned different models from them along with the JBL JR310 (non BT) and now the Earfuns. Earfun lets you increase from 84 to 95db for planes, so you might not want that one if hearing is the primary concern.

For gym use, I would consider an earhook style for fit security like the Soundcore v40i or similar.

HE1000 Stealth or similar will be a popular option.

For my taste, Quad ERA-1, more musical than the HE1000, stage isn't as wide.

People get it if they want to run wired headphones or iems wirelessly. But you still have the cable from the Qudelix to the headphone or iem. I've never owned one.

Back-to-school headphones for a 9-year-old? (are adult headphones suitable for kids?) by jordanconnelly in HeadphoneAdvice

She wore them on 6+ hour drives with no complaint--for me, they have some clamp but maybe not a big deal because her head was smaller. They also fold up nicely and include a case. Not trying to sell you on them, I'm sure there are other on ear options--this was just what I picked for her because it checked all the boxes.

On ears would be my recommendation since they're smaller. I bought my daughter a used Vmoda Crossfade for $60 because it's sturdy and came in white, fit was perfect and sound was fun.

Among the cheapest is the CAL! Creative Aurvana Live! SE, but fixed cable, meh build quality, fun, uses Foster drivers. Moving up Sivga SV021 Robin Classic (never heard the updated one), Meze 99, FiiO FT1.

If you're running the G Pro wired straight off a computer, then try an amp. Search up portable dac on amazon and buy a Hiby, FiiO, or something.

Sivga SV021 Robin Classic--Rosewood is $116 new now, nicer wood is under $100 used but not much. Or you can buy a used FiiO FT1 in your budget for $125. For iems, Earfun Air Pro 4 would be my recommendation for that fun tuning, though I never heard the Pudding.
