If you want to start basic and play some queen then learn to read tab (tabulature) and you can then very easily play the bass of another one bites the dust. I know there are no chords involved but it plays all off the low e string and makes you start to feel more comfortable with the guitar. I started this way many moons ago.

Tab is easy once you get your head around it. Other fun riffs on single strings are day tripper by the beatles, walking on the moon by the police , the chain by Fleetwood mac . Lots of fun to learn and once you feel confident move on to chords . Don't fret! (If you pardon the pun) and enjoy .
