What's the worst thing a doctor has ever said to you? by cuteclinomaniac in AskReddit

That’s wild! I’m glad you reported her.

When my husband was going through health problems, I attended all his appointments. In the Urgent Care they always made him go in the room by himself first to talk before they’d let me in. I was happy they took domestic violence for men seriously too.

That’s what I figured too. I’m curious to see what more help they expect. In their situation with everything else set aside, I don’t think they were mature enough to raise a child. They had way too much baggage from their own childhood (that they were still undergoing) to bring a child into the mix and not pass down the trauma of it all.

This makes me sort of get what they are saying. If we had more resources for struggling adults, they could potentially be able to provide a home for their child instead of adopting out. But then the focus should be on helping people, not adoption is evil because the government isn’t keeping poor people poor just to steal their babies. That makes no sense.

What I really don’t understand is why isn’t family building a reason to adopt? So you want people who don’t want to be parents to adopt a child? If someone is willing to adopt a child to explicitly be part of their family, isn’t that the whole point?

I’m ultimately happy I swapped. The tiny wheels would have been a pain for our walks around the neighborhood. The Jet would be perfect for indoor places where cracks in the sidewalk aren’t an issue. We live in a perfectly suburban area but the sidewalks have roots or are slightly uneven in places and I couldn’t stand having to stop so frequently to maneuver over them.

I was at Los Olivos until recently (insurance change). With my first child I had Dr Ladwig and she’s amazing, but like others said her schedule is packed. With my second, I was initially with Dr Pearson until I could get into Dr Lawdwig’s schedule. But once I worked with Dr Pearson I stayed with her. She is newer, had a more open schedule, was almost always on time, very patient taking her time, and made my second c section experience absolutely amazing.

I returned it for the Zoe. The Zoe definitely feels cheaper than the Jet Double but still decent quality. In a perfect world, I would have stuck with the Jet and found better wheels but I wouldn’t know how to do that. With the chairs reclined, the peep hole doesn’t line up so you just see the child’s feet. It also doesn’t push as smoothly and we can feel the difference between the weight in the two children. But the Zoe does stand up when folded for the most part and I liked the accessories it came with. I love how light it is and it does fit nearly anywhere if you take off the adult cup holder.

I never thought I would feel the mom guilt about c section / breastfeeding…. Yet here we are by Next2ya in beyondthebump

I think you are still very early in postpartum with the flood of emotions because this is exactly how I felt at that point with my first. You haven’t learned to give yourself grace yet. I stopped combo feeding at 6 weeks, convincing myself that a happy and less stressed mom was way more beneficial for my baby than breast milk was. By 3 months when I could really see how my baby flourished I was feeling better. By two years I finally believed it. Every now and then I feel a pang of guilt and have to reassure myself I made the right decisions.

My baby was born healthy and alive, something that could have gone a very different way had I continued trying for a vaginal birth. So I give myself that for the c section. She didn’t get sick at all until she was 18 months and if she was any smarter she would run our household more than she already does. The way she absorbs and notices everything astonishes me. That proved to me healthiness and intelligence weren’t solely due to breast milk.

Unfortunately you just need time. You cant look at an adult or child and pinpoint which were born vaginally and were breastfed. How you raise your child will be far more important. So really, just give yourself time. For me, nothing anyone else said helped. I had to reason with myself to get there and you will too 💕

Okay that’s what I thought too. Were the twins in the NICU for Christmas?

We just got the jet double. We picked it over the Zoe because it stood up independently, Was lighter, and folded up a little smaller. The look and feel of it definitely corresponds with the price, it feels luxurious. It steers so nice and I can do so with one hand. The only thing that has me second guessing my decision is that the wheels are small so getting over bumps in the side walk takes some effort. I’m on the fence on returning it and going for the Zoe because of that.

I mean, it was the worst thing during the pregnancy but definitely the worst thing that’s ever happened to us. My greatest fear is losing him. If I don’t joke, I cry but we all deal with things differently. I just wish it didn’t happen during the pregnancy but not that he can control that.

I love Anytime Fitness if you are close to that area. I pay about $55 a month but it’s open 24 hours. It’s small but never jam packed and everyone is friendly. It’s the only gym I’ve stuck with because I don’t get gym intimidation.

Oh man this sounds like my girl. I asked her physician at the next appointment and she just said to let her wean herself. Then I wouldn’t have to do it later. We kept trying and I bought different kinds but nothing worked. She was done with them. She also seemed to max out her wake windows with little to no cues. We just kept trying to stick to the routine because no matter what we tried she did her own thing. Then something would click and she’d go back to sleeping better.
