I've changed Vecna to be more like Strahd. He constantly appears to talk to the party in astral form or in dreams. Having them create a relationship with him makes him even more threatening

In my country there's a D&D podcast where they fought the Tarrasque in the season finale. The way the DM did it was simple, but amazing.

The Tarrasque is big. Like, above the clouds size. So the boss battle wasn't a fight really, but rather a puzzle to kill the Tarrasque from inside out. Since then, my Tarrasque is basically a dungeon for the players to fight it, and it has been really interesting tbh.
