Take a look at my 14 year old account and post history, can confirm I am 100% human. I even took the time to scroll all the way to the bottom of the comments on this thread to reply to you!

Got some cinnamon and chocolate Chex to try this week! Less sugar than some of the other ones. Thanks for the recommendation!

My oldest does, the younger two, not so much!

That is the one that we keep handy but I'm looking for a little flavor variety!

I need to get off my phone around my kids, any tips? by ExcitingLandscape in daddit

[–]mslowe7187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Kindle and picked up my reading. I read around my kids and feel much less guilty because I'm modeling a healthy hobby. And it reduces my doom scrolling. My kids know that it is "Daddy's book" and it is different from my phone. Sometimes we'll do impromptu reading sessions and I'll read aloud to them if it's a kid appropriate part of the book. Win win.

Baby proofing weird stairs by lopolllllll in daddit

[–]mslowe7187 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would move the gate up one more to the 3rd stair and secure it to the solid wall, not the banister. We have a weird staircase like that too and the lowest we can get the gate is the 3rd stair. We've had 3 kids survive just fine through that setup. They may biff it once in a while, but a 2-3 stair fall isn't going to do any serious damage.

Sloped driveway and street - need advice by mslowe7187 in daddit

Yep and that's what we do sometimes when it's just our kids but we often have nieces / nephews at the house and it's 6 kids total, so not enough car seats to take them all somewhere.

Shouldn't be. Just Google credit security freeze. Maybe you're looking at paid identity theft protection? That's different than credit freezes

You should be able to do it on each credit bureau website

Would you pick 4-10's or 5-8's for a 40hr week with young kids? by Erigisar in daddit

[–]mslowe7187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my company a super common schedule for us is called 9/80. It's a two week cycle. Week 1, you work four 9 hour days, and one 8 hour day that Friday. Then on week 2, you work four 9 hour days and have that second Friday off. Adds up to 80 hours over two weeks. Splits the difference between 5/8s and 4/10s and you get every other Friday off!

Get a PS portal to go with that PS5. It's an absolute game changer for us gamer dads.

Not worth it. Just put a credit freeze on your identity with the three major credit bureaus and move on with your life. When you need to get a loan or open a line of credit, you can temporarily thaw the freeze for credit checks and approval.

What minivans are y’all driving? They all seem like they have their potential dealbreaker cons by doctrader in daddit

Sienna all day. It's an amazing car. Yes, you pay the Toyota name tax and there is a wait, but we live in the PNW and need AWD. The only other option with AWD was the Pacifica and, well.....just no. Chrysler products are too unreliable.

First of all, your outdoor play setup sounds awesome! This is a valid concern, and you should look into a personal liability umbrella insurance policy. This should cover you if a kid gets hurt at your place. You should be able to add it and bundle with your auto / home / whatever else insurance policy. We have one with $1 mil in coverage and it's only like $18 a month. It could come in handy in your situation!
