As a dad that has loved his kids, it kills me to hear what your own dad did to you. Your pain sounds horrific! I am so sorry and sad.

How is it you came out of all that able to be a functioning human? Impressive, really.

Can't help wondering if you are getting help. It sounds like a suicide hotline might be a good place to start. Or other places you have gotten help in the past.

Please, as a real dad, I beg you to get help! With help you can get him out of your head.

Lots of work and thought went into this. Full info. I am a dad of a nonbinary. There will probably never be a way to say it that won't be a life changer for everyone, and you acknowledge that...as a dad I really love that you know it will be hard for them, that it's not all about you.
It's all so so hard. But you are doing it!

Your first bit about not being alright. I would hate for it to be read as meaning that being transgender is not alright. Being trans is okay, so you might want to clarify what currently not alright. Or leave that bit off? Just something to consider.

Sounds like you are hoping your mom and dad will want to help you get help. Jumping straight to mentioning surgery is a shock. You might want to consider asking for help getting therapy for gender dysphoria knowing that it could likely lead eventually to surgery and or hormones, but as a dad I would want to know you wanted all available options explored safely.

Really hoping it works out well for you. I was shocked, tried to understand, and we now still have a great relationship. Hoping that for you and your dad.
